What happened to Colin Rolfe? I read he was waived. He looked to be a decent talented striker from college. Did Dom just feel he wasn't progressing?
I know some of yous are fans, but the little I saw of Colin Rolfe I wasn't really blown away. Would of been nice as cheap roster filler but would of been #6 on the FWD depth chart with no sign of passing Bruin, Cummings, Carr, Ching (if he re-ups), Kandji. Heck even Weaver would of slotted him to #7.
I agree with your assessment of where he is today. That being said, at 44k he is on the non-budget roster so I am surprised they didn't keep him in reserve one more year just to see. Frankly, it cost them nothing except a spot at the back end to do so. With Carr's injury, Chings uncertain age, and Kandji not signed he could have actually been as high as 3 or 4 on the chart next year (in reality I imagine we sign one more if we don't keep Kandji and Weaver, but you get the point.)
http://www.realsaltlake.com/news/2013/01/real-salt-lake-signs-dfmf-lovel-palmer you can't keep a guy who makes bad decisions with the ball in stoppage time down, Mon!
I wish that I had recorded that. But I was busy splainin to the wife why Dom appeared to be somewhat unhappy (Dom was absolutely beside himself ballistic).
I wish I had recorded that incident with Creavalle last summer when he came on a late sub. That was the match where Ownby set up the winner. I have no clue what happened but after that Dom got on him for trying to take a throw in front of our bench, it went something like "Warren, WTF are you doing!? Get the F@#$ back on defense! God #$#%! #$%$$%@#%%! Made me blush. But it was actually kinda of funny. I thought Creavalle was going to cry for a second.
Dom's ability to swear is almost as good as Patton's was. Not quite that clever but very effective nonetheless
sure, but Patton had this high pitch voice. Dom sounds like some fisherman off the docks. I'd be more scared of Dom.
True, but when Patton cussed you out, it stuck. Dom's sounding like a fisherman will get ya in the moment but eventually wear off. I'd, personally, be more scared of a guy who says he is going to kill his enemies by the dozen and use their severed parts to keep his tank running than a gruff sounding f-bomb any day of the week.
Former draftee Euan Holden just left his team: http://www.stockport.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=304388
I'm guessing that too much time has passed since we laid claim to him, and it doesn't really matter anymore, right? I could be wrong and maybe there 1) isn't a time limit 2) if there is a time restraint, it still hasn't expired. However, he'll probably want too much money, won't even consider a move to the states, and may not be that much of an improvement. This was a pointless post with some valid points.
Colin Clark just signed a contract with LA Galaxy. http://www.lagconfidential.com/2013/1/8/3851896/la-galaxy-sign-colin-clark-brian-perk-and-mike-magee
yep-I know someone that knows him pretty well. didn't know this until recently. I asked if he made indications that he is coming back. This individual said he keeps mum on that stuff but could tell by his reaction that he probably didn't bank on coming back. But always had nothing but good things to say about the team and fans. Andrew/Andre-good guy, we'll miss him. Good luck to him where ever he winds up.
You could say it is one of the few guys we held on to longer than we should have in terms of pure trade value (to Montreal), but at the time that seemed like an excellent call. And we did get decent mileage out of him in the playoffs when Taylor went down. Not sure if his play dropped off that much in 2012 or that maybe we overrated his play in previous seasons. That said, Ross County of the SPL seems like a step backwards, not lateral. Kind of wish we could have kept Sturgis somehow for depth.
Dom's greatest quote ever, "Pat, Tell f****** Ianni to stop f****** kicking the f****** ball in the f****** middle of the f****** field." The 8 year olds in the front row next to me were just as pumped as Dom was!
Stu Holden will apparently be in tomorrow's FA Cup game-day squad. Ryan Cochrane has joined the coaching staff at Santa Clara. I think Craig Waibel is now an assistant at U of Washington. Any other former Dynamo players coaching in the college game?
Indeed. Started on the bench and came on as a sub for the last 20minutes. Best part? Perfectly healthy and no problems (reported).
