    Holy @#$% dude.

My 'didn't watch any college soccer but read everything on internet' big board for Revs:
    1. Walker Zimmerman
    2. Eriq Zavaleta
    3. Andrew Farrell
    4. Erik Hurtado
    5. Ashton Bennett
    6. Deshorn Brown
    7. Kory Kindle
    8. Taylor Kemp
    9. Emery Welshman
    10. Dylan Tucker-Gagnes
    11. Greg Cochrane
    12. Jason Johnson
    13. Mikey Lopez
    14. Kyle Bekker
    15. Tommy Muller
    16. Ryan Finley
    17. Kekuta Manneh
    18. Don Anding
    19. Blake Smith
    20. Kofi Opare
Would probably end up with CB - Zimmerman, LB - Cochrane/Kemp, and FW - Anding.

    I still think it's Farrell at #1.

No other reason to trade up to #1 (except to pick Alvarez, but that would be a real shocker).

Or Bekker. Bekker and Alvarez seem to be consensus #2 and #3 picks. They're the only guys that everyone agrees would have been at #4.

Possible, but if Bekker was going to go before their #4, then it would be Toronto who would take him. If Toronto wanted him, why would they make this deal (unless they knew the Revs weren't taking him)?

You don't help someone jump in front of you if they want the guy you want.

    What

Toronto didn't "help" us jump forward. We game them allocation money. Hypothetical: Toronto wanted him and we gave them allocation so we could get him.

Isn't that the whole point of a trade?

    Two Scenarios:

1.) Toronto had little to no interest in a defender, which is why they were desperate to drop back in the draft. They also have interest in bringing in Bekker, a Canadian player who would be a reach with the first pick. Trading down allows them to get the player they actually want plus some allocation money.

2.) Toronto prefers Zimmerman over Farrell. Given Chivas has already announced their pick to be Alvarez, TFC realized they could flip with New England's fourth pick and still get their desired guys while adding allocation money.

Trades allow teams to "help" each other.

If Toronto and the Revs were vying for the same player, Toronto wouldn't have made the deal.

They got it right, whether he is the real deal we will find out. But, at least they didn't screw it up.

They are absolutely slamming Toronto, and with good reason.
