Am I the only one who thinks Robben will be fine under Guardiola? I don't think Pep will be so obssessive about everyone passing the ball around a million times, he will probably allow Robben the freedom to dribble around since this utilizes his ability most(and for the record he didn't restrict Barca's wingers from dribbling)

Of course, he can still be useful, no question about it. He can be a great option off the bench when we want to go more direct or chase a game. Whether he accepts more of a squad role is the real question. If not, Pep won't take any crap from anyone and won't hesitate to send someone packing for a second.

You are really making a fool of yourself by comparing Guardiola to Klinsi. But that's not really a surprise.

It's not like Robben is poor at one-twos or at through balls, he's actually one of the best players in the squad at it. It's just that he rarely exhibits it due to his selfishness. If Pep manages to get Robben to fit into his high pressing/high defense style, then he won't have any problems fitting into his system imo

Robben doesn't do much defensive work or pass the ball enough either, I can't see him sticking around if he isn't willing to adjust. And at this stage of his career I don't think he'll be willing to change his game if he hadn't done so all this time under all the top managers he's been under.

I'm really interested personally in seeing how Kroos, Muller, and Shaqiri fit into Pep's system. Dante should be a player Pep will love as well.

Pep will love Dante, Alaba, Martinez (of course) and Müller.

Everyone will start from scratch though and be able to prove themselves.

I was going to ask earlier but had to go watch the Barca game, but how do you (not just you FR, but all Bayern fans here) think he will fit Thomas Muller into the team? I assume, knowing Pep, that he will continue playing the 4-3-3 formation even at Bayern but where would Muller fit in that? He's not quite a winger or a natural centerforward so where could he fit?

And do you think Pep's appointment will have any impact on the current squad for the remainder of the season? Like, players trying to prove their worth to Pep and show that they will put the work in and give it their all before he even starts working which would surely please him. Every player surely wants to be part of Pep's newest journey in management. His last one went quite well I'd say. ;)

    Ok, let me break it down for you;

Guardiola came through the Barca system. He gets it, he understood it, he lived it.
    He is new at Bayern.
His transition as manager of Barca was extremely smooth...why? He went from player to assistant manager to manager.
    He is new at Bayern.
He had arguably the best players at his disposal. Players like Messi, Xavi, Inesta, etc.
He doesn't have that at Bayern.
He had money and funds to burn.
He won't have that at Bayern...you guys are fiscally smarter than most other elite clubs out there.
He was able to simply wave off expensive and high profile players like Ibrahimovic.
He will not get that at Bayern.
He has no experience outside of Spain.
Bayern is his 1st club outside of La Liga....actually, it is the ONLY club he has managed outside of Barca.
    He doesn't speak German.

Do I think this has the potential to become a Klinsman 2.0 situation? Absolutely...minus the Landycakes.

Is Bayern willing to be extremely patient with him until pieces begin to fall into place? I don't think so.

Klinsmann had Loew. Pep had Tito. Look at Tito with Barca...was he the mastermind behind Pep's managerial style?

I am glad he came to Germany. It is good for the Bundesliga...but I don't think he is what most people make him out to be. Time will tell...no need to respond just yet. I could very well be wrong but if my gut feeling tells me something...it is that I believe what I posted above.

So, am I really making a fool of myself with the comparison? I don't think so.

That's the question. Will pep adapt to Bayern or do Bayern adapt to Pep? I think he'll experiment a lot in training and will try what's in place already but also variations of what he has in mind.

There are so many variations you can think of. Müller as a False 9, Ribery in a more versatile role, etc. We'll just have to wait and see. I'd love to see something like this.

    ---------Ribery-------Müller-------Shaqiri------
    -------------Kroos-----------Schweinsteiger----
    ----------------------Martinez-----------------

I think they'll do their utmost to focus on the remaining season and not on what happens next year. They have to, for the sake of Jupp and finishing the season like they started.

Man if every coach was such a nansy pansy that breaks down at the first sign of resistance then we wouldn't have the truly great like SAF, Hitzfeld, Mourinho and many other great managers amongst us.

You dismiss and overlook the development of Barcelona from Rijkaard to Guardiola. You dismiss that he implemented their stile of play. Overlook how much the players improved under his management. Indicating Tito would be the mastermind is beyond bold. In the past many coaches were able to keep the level of their successful predecessor for a while but only the great develop a team to new heights.

Your skepticism is duly noted and I partially share it but comparing him to Klinsmann is beyond grotesque.

My comparison to Klinsman was in the outcome of their success at Bayern, not as a head-to-head comparison as managers.

Not sure that was so hard to get but apparently it was because two people read it differently.
