Colorado also got LaBrocca for Avila as Chivas continues on their march down the path to become a Mexican only club.
Or rather, becoming a Las Vegas club. What a disaster that whole outfit is. The best news we've had in months is that Vergara wants to sell.
They're definitely doing their part to keep pace with KC and NY in the East. They don't have much defensive depth, but that's a pretty good team on paper now.
The new Indianapolis ownership doesn’t seem to be concerned with endearing themselves to the Brickyard Battalion contingent that wanted the name to be Racing Indianapolis. http://indyprosoccer.com/nametheteam/
Racing Indianapolis FC.....simplest team naming ever or are they they just trying to butter up the Battalion with the whole " the people have spoken" routine and proclaim the team name as Racing Indy as the vote ends?
It does remind me of the whole Sounders thing; we have a perfectly good option our most fervent supporters like but we're first going to give you some really shitty options you have to overcome first.
Enlighten me. Seattle actually had a naming contest? With the Sounders name firmly entrenched with the SG?
Yep the only choices were FC, Republic, and Alliance. Actually many hardcore MLS fans helped them out by writing in Sounders. They're pretty damn ungrateful if you ask me.
They're going to play in a lot adjecent to the Mets lot. Not sure where that puts the stadium... queens? And bill, you can say I'm full of shit all you want, I'm just telling you what I was told from somebody who is much more connected than you, anyone you are getting info from, or myself... I'll keep the rest of the things I get to myself.
I have no idea why I'm about the only one who remembers Danndamanny. He unequivocally told us we were getting the last US vs. Mexico game when everyone and their brother was saying it had been given to RSL. He's also had other good inside info, though I can't remember any others off-hand now. (He most recently did say that Freidel was lobbying for the Crew head coaching job, and there's no way to confirm if that one's true or not, but I know he's had some other inside info that's turned out to be true)
I recall a bunch of flaming douchebag Columbus haters saying that RSL would get that match but I don't recall a single substantive source saying so. I don't recall there being much doubt at all, and there really wasn't. Sunil Gulati had offered to move it elseewhere if Mexico would move their home match out of the Azteca. They refused. At that point it would have been pretty stupid to say "Well OK, we'll move it anyway" That game was always going to be in Columbus. If DandyMandy or whateverthefvck said the same thing then bravo to Captain Obvious.
http://www.revolutionsoccer.net/2013-superdraft New England trades #4 pick and allocation money to Toronto for #1 pick. Who do they take?
What??? "Mr Inside Info" with his super-secret sources doesn't know that the site MLS wants is 13 acres located in the eastern end of Flushing Meadows in Corona Park? Gosh. Thanks. You're full of shit. Oooh, ooooh, I love playing "Mine is longer than yours"! It's my favorite. Particularly when nobody is required to drop their pants and prove it. Of course I've been playing it a lot longer than you, and with people a lot brighter than you. You ought to get to know Duane Rollins. Oh darn. Die screaming.
I remember Dann tipping us off to Crew roster moves in the past usually a few weeks before they were reported in the media. He's been specific and seems to have a good track record.
Per twitter it's official: TRADE: ChicagoFire acquire Jeff Larentowicz + 30th pick from @ColoradoRapids for 11th pick, allocation + int'l slot http://t.co/fx22qhPs Seriously, these other teams keep getting better and all we are doing is hemorrhaging players and grabbing up a few HGs that people knew we were gonna get anyway.
Make some up. It's more fun that way. For example, I spent a chunk of time living in Australia, therefore, I have no problems whatsoever in telling the peanut gallery that my sources Down Under are telling me that Alessandro Del Piero is fed up with the losing ways of struggling Sydney FC and has put in for a transfer to Black and Gold Blvd. You heard it here first.
Just wondering could the Man City group use the Homegrown rule as an end around of the Cap and selling players?
I have to vote for Indianapolis Athletic simply for the potential of a marketing campaign around "Grab A Piece Of Indy Ath!"
