I thought Vela played extremely well. He was directing the offense, and was visibly upset when his teammates weren't on the same page as him. It was nice to see some passion from him. The English announcers kept saying how he was holding the ball well, and looking dangerous every time he had the ball. Always looking like something special was going to happen.

Being at it, Vela is also a constellation. By the way, as pointless trivia, Vela (from Bele) as surname is of Basque origin and mean "crow" (Ochoa shares a similar background, Basque origin and means"wolf").
Thanks for saving us the trouble of googling the etymology ourselves. It's settled then -- Carl Crow.
Alright, I get it. Can't a n*gga go on a tangent anymore? On topic: http://www.mundodeportivo.com/20130...-vela-el-messias-txuri-urdin_54360894030.html
I think if the team is given continuity he should stay at Real Sociedad until the World Cup, and then look for a club to step up to.
I think i actually agree. RS has been playing some really WATCHABLE (thank god) football lately. And Vela is the most important part of that team. Good team.
It's also a young team. Assuming they can keep the core of the team intact, they should get better with experience.
Additionally, there is quite a bit of speculation that Xabi Alonso won't resign with los Merengues this summer so that he can finish out his career where it began with la Real. If that happens, I wouldn't be surprised to see the team snatch up one of the four Champions' League slots. So far, Alonso has dodged question about his future with Real Madrid... so, who knows?
well if its retirement thing hell probably get the free transfer, and as long as he doesn't charge an arm and a leg maybe.
