As you see it right now, where will the Crew finish at the end of the 2013 season? Poll closes in 7 days. Vote is public to discount non-Crew fans.

We're going to start off the year with 14 points from our first 6 games. We'll cruise through the season and clinch our playoff spot before the end of September.

I wish I believed that Crew would make the playoffs. Some where I think Crew will.. but that is a very irrational place.

Somewhere in the eastern conference. But the league will change the playoff qualification system halfway through the season and the Crew well somehow find themselves western conference champions.

    Negative.

Higuain and Arrieta are going to come out of the gate with guns blazing.

    Truth.

In all seriousness, if these int'l deals go through and we get one good and 2 decent players from the draft/trades I think we can compete for top 3 in the East

This is easy. The teams below the Crew are trying to improve except TFC of course. The only team that looks like it might take a tumble is NYRB but probably not far enough to fall past the Crew. As of right now we are not getting better we are about the same at best.

We are going to realize after about three games that needing to win 6-5 is not going to be a good long term strategy.

Well, the fans will realize this. The coaches and FO will take until about September and by then they will have another list of excuses for their piss poor performances and will get raises and contract extensions.

As I see it we currently have 1 defender who had a poor season (by his standards, Marshall) and no other high end defenders. CM position for me is still a worry. Up top 1 are 1 injury away from not being dynamic.

What can I say? I'm a hopeless romantic.

Oh, and I'm banking on a midseason firing, leading to the triumphant return of GBS, whom will lead us to the promised land.

God loves you just for saying it!

Not optmistic even for that. RW does enough to make MM think he's coach of the year material to keep his job, despite running into issues like this being our third consecutive rebuilding season, injuries, player alienations and such like. We finish 6th, but are not eliminated from the playoffs until the last day, prompting the FO to release statements of congratulations for the Crew for a season of improvement.

Really, the next poll should be "How many players will the Crew have on roster on 1/1/14?" And list the range to be anywhere from 10 to 19.

I went with 7th because I voted right now. We get a decent LB I might change my mind but like I said with the team we have now it seems like we expect Arrieta and Higuain to outscore everyone while Andy stands on his head to keep the ball out. That's a bad plan, I'll feel better if we have an answer at LB.

I am interested in Marshall. Was last season just a down year and will he bounce back if not, does anyone think we have above average defenders? I like Gaven in the midfield and that's about all Arrieta, and Higuain will score goals. Looking at the rest of the league I am not seeing us being better than others in most areas.

I for one will be concerned with Marshall until we see him. Did the surgery help? I hope so. Did the surgery relieve pain but he's still a step slower... maybe.

We will probably start Marshall and Williams in the middle while crossing our fingers that 2012 was an anomaly for Chad and not an anomaly for Josh.
