Agree so .. at least 2 names are easily compete with Iniesta in term of talents and overall style: Cecs and Silva ... In other hand Xabi Alonso is also very very close to Xavi talent ... SO? WHat a GREAT ERA that Spain NT had ever produced

Silva is a very good player but really not as good as Iniesta imo and also isn't better than Carzola and Mata.
And Alonso is not "very" close to Xavi imo. There style is different, Alonso's style is more comparable to Pirlo and Pirlo's slightly better imo.

Spain dominated even without Villa and with off-form Torres. They also have players on the bench that will be starters on any other NT in the World.
This team is an example of the collective success. It's what happens when very good and great players put their egos and rivalries aside for the good of the team. They also have had two good coaches, especially Del Bosque, who have managed the players quite well. Spain's success and domination is based on many things, which you don't seem to understand. Yes, on the surface it looks like it's because of Iniesta and Xavi, but there are also Casillas, Ramos, Alonso, Pique, Puyol, etc.
Exactly....and he has been playing with Gago/Banega and Mascherano in midfield......

I will disagree that Cesc is a better all-around player than Iniesta......but I agree with the rest of what you say.

So you meant Xavi is way better than Pirlo? Pirlo is about same talent level and just a bit different style! In pact, Pirlo is more versatile in tactics and formation usage than Xavi!

Go to another trhead between Xavi and Pirlo to see other people's opinion!

Mata and Cazorla are good but no that good.

Alonso is a defensive mid, what you said makes no sense.

wtf? Spain with no Xavi and Iniesta would not be the world champions, they are simply great when they play together.

Fabregas is good but not as good as Iniesta.

Till Messi doesn't choke with Argentina, I'm not buying it.

How??? He's pretty much played the same role/position his whole career
The only thing Pirlo does better is his long range passes imo, and he's better than every other player at that. And i never said that Xavi is "way better" than Pirlo, but yes i think he's better but any team will be more than glad to have any of them.

Alonso is a deep lying Play maker just like Pirlo, they often play alongside another defensive midfielder who does most of the dirty jobs.

Carzola and Silva pretty much have the same style of play while Mata is a bit more direct than both. Anyway just by curiosity, i'll like to know what Silva does better Mata or Carzola...

Silva is a more goalscoring threat, this is the one attribute where he completely surpasses Mata or Cazorla.

He probably surpasses Carzola here, both nothing (assists and goals scored) indicates that he clearly surpasses Mata

If you followed up Pirlo career you would know what I meant!
Anyway, Pirlo was proven in different teams (Juve, Milan, Italy NT) and different formations tactics (from 4 4 1 1 to 4 1 3 2 to 4 3 3 and 3 5 2) . Xavi did great but often caught with same formation 4 3 3 and same team mates surroundings

Two aspects that Pirlo was clearly better than Xavi: FK and Long pass

Ill take Pirlo over Xavi bc we don't know how good Xavi will be without Iniesta.

Ill take Silva over Mata and Cazorla but again, none of them are that good, and there is very little difference between the 3 of them.

The 3 of them are fake 10s, never really carried any team to win anything.

Hell nah, Alonso can't creat for crap, he is def not a playmaker.

I would say Mata is a more MF of the 3 (better back track in defense) while Silva excelled as the best attacking player of the 3!
    1- Attack: Silva, Carzola, Mata
2- All rounded MF: Mata, Carzola, Silva
Hence people choice for their need in the team!

    Aguilucho here u go

    myth1- Messi sucks with Argentina
2012 stats with argentina: 9 matches 12 goals .. not even counting all the assists.
Show me who else has 1.33 goals per games ratio with NT and not even counting all the assists, NOBODY comes even close.

myth2- Messi sucks without Xavi and Iniesta
How many times did Xavi and Iniesta assist Messi for his 91 goals in 2012? the answer is less than 15.
Both your supposed better players Ronaldo and Ibra were assisted more by picking 2 top assisters from both their teams, than Messi was by Xavi or Iniesta, and scored alot less goals aswell.
    Again, you fail hard.
I also recall Messi scoring a hat trick amongst other things and dominating a match without either Xavi or Iniesta in 2012.

number don't mean crap if you don't win anything.

if we go by beating 6 players with no assist, Magico Gonzalez comes in the argument.

After the last copa America, lets only hope that a coach that knows how to use Messi coach Argentina in the next worl cup

Infact Xavi and Iniesta have assisted in only 10 of Messi's 91 goals in the 2012 calendar year.

while it could be true, that doesn't mean anything bc without those 2, Barca would've never been able to win anything, neither Spain.

Messi can't do everything by himself.
Him and Iniesta (not Xavi to my opinion) are a great couple, they play together by them self alot of times and win games alone, just the two of them.
Iniesta is the kind of player which plays the best when his team isn't. He is a pure winner, wouldn't mind having such player in Madrid.

Don't know if this is true but The Daily Mail, not sure how reliable they are, had an article talking about yesterday's Barca match and they said that Messi leads all players in assists over the past 3 seasons (including this one) in La Liga. He has 41 and Ozil is second with 37.
