I may be reading way into this but Portland took Diego Valeri on loan from Lanus which is GBS team. Maybe he offered him to us first, maybe we didn't want him but either way he is supposedly a very good player. Would have liked to see him in Cbus.

 

I think it was like $400,000 to get him for a year plus a 2 million dollar transfer fee after the loan to purchase the player. At least that was what was rumored, pretty steep prices

Over in MLS N & A some people went off on a tangent about words being pronounced differently from what the spelling would suggest.

One guy wrote that his favorite example was the word "douchebag" which is usually pronounced "dooshbag" but which he believes ought to be pronounced "ste-van len-hart"

 

a more accurate way of looking at it, is GBS is helping US by directing Valeri (a player GBS is familiar with but didnt consider him to be good enough for Lanus) to Portland and not the Crew.

GBS would be on considerable wages for HSG to sign him but if Robert were to start the season with a 5 losses (speculation Frankie would be on the phone with Guillermo offering the HC position.

 

This prediction is spot on. Robert loses a few too many at the beginning of the season, we'll see change and hopefully GBS.

The potential downside to all this- when GBS wins us multiple Cups and leaves us to go be a coaching legend at Boca, to whom do we turn???

Chelis has come right out and said Chivas USA is taking Alvarez with the second pick. That should push a few players down a spot as most figured they'd pick Mikey Lopez; I think Lopez is the better player too. If they hold to that I'm going to laugh pretty hard, they have one pick it's the 2nd and they're going to get an 11-16 level pick taken out of it because they're stupid and want only Mexican Americans.
