Someone has thoughtfully tweeted Canada's schedule for the China Four Nations tournament. (All times A.M. EST.) 1) China 12 Jan. 1:00 2) South Korea 14 Jan. 6:00 3) Norway 16 Jan. 4:00. The games used to be broadcast on CCTV5. It's usually easy to find a link to that channel but most are low resolution.
I see Herdman is going to a younger roster to China. http://equalizersoccer.com/2013/01/04/canada-goes-young-for-yongchuan-cup/
I don't think it has been mentioned but France will play Canada in April somewhere in the west of France
U have to figure their will be more as well. US is going over to play Germany in April. With countries preparing for Euros ud think both Canada and US would try and get more than just one match on their trips.
For those NWSL fans counting at home that's 14 post-college players on the roster. Herdman said that there was a couple of NWSL allocation players left at home. You would have to think that one was Candace Chapman. The other could be Timko (if she's still interested in continuing) or Moscato (if she has time away from her coaching duties). It's a bold move by Herdman to go with the U17s. I expect Summer Clarke would have been there if she had been at the December camp. It's a good thing Sinclair is there to provide support as the forward corps is very inexperienced.
Kelly Parker seems to have kept a low profile since the Olympics. Maybe she's retiring from the international game?
That would be a shame. She has a lot of talent, and hasn't reached her full potential yet. She showed flashes of brilliance in WPS.
I saw that Moscato (hand) and Chapman (knee surgery) were left off the roster due to injuries. Ud have to figure Moscato at least would be ready for the league.
Congratulations to former CWNT player and captain Andrea Neil for being hired as U. of British Columbia's women's head coach.
Defender Marie-Eve Nault joins Steph Labbe at KIF Orebro. Meanwhile, no word on any television broadcasts of any of the Yongchuan Cup games.
Good news. The China - Canada match is listed on the CCTV-5 schedule at 14:00 local time Saturday, January 12. That's 22:00 Friday, January 11 Pacific and 01:00 Eastern. It might be that only China's games are being broadcast.
I think the stream is geoblocked but hopefully someone who speaks Chinese can read the error message. http://english.cntv.cn/live/cctv5/index.shtml
FFF it's for sure geoblocked in the US. Maybe I should try finding a Hong Kong proxy? Or do you think a streaming site will relay it?

[CHN-CAN] The qqzhibo link gave me about 5 seconds of video every 60 seconds. Use the wasu link. 66' 0-0 welp. When Canada have the ball, the stands are so quiet you can hear the girls yelling on the field. 67' 0-0 Canada subs in (1? of 3?) #6 Kaylyn Kyle for #11 Desiree Scott. Dunno if they get 6 subs for this tourney.
74' 0-1 China lackadaisical square pass from just behind midfield left toward center circle back, intercepted by #9 Adriana Leon going the other way. She dribbles to box top arc right, forcing defenders #6 and #4 to backpedal and cede ground as she zigzags to mess up their feet. Glimmer of daylight, hard low shot right foot from arc right, across the goal mouth low. Beats the tall (ex-VB) keeper under her right hand, into the back left corner.
79' 0-1 Canada subs in: - (2 of 3?) #17 Nichelle Prince for #10 Chantelle Oduro. - (3 of 3?) #5 Robin Gayle for #7 Rhian Wilkinson. 81' 0-1 China makes a sub. 81' 0-1 China dig a ball out of their own box. Very interesting / adventurous ping idea: to break pressure at box top, China do a wacky inside-out diagonal backpass, which looks like a perfect own-through-ball Good: their LB is always wide-open to receive it. Bad: she gets it deep in her own corner, and then they must tunnel their way forth again. Aaand -- Canada steals it at China's box top right but China survives ...
85' 0-1 Scramble across box top, Kyle collects at 24m center and holds. Sees #5 Gayle overlapping up the right, feeds her diagonally. Gayle dribbles down to 7m box right, turns a defender, drifts inward, doesn't shoot. Passes square to #17 Prince in a seam at 10m right post. Prince blasts one-touch roundhouse toward right post 1/2 high, gk dives and palms it wide. 88' 0-1 Canada subs in (4 of 6?) #15 Ashley Lawrence for #13 Sophie Schmidt. 89' 0-1 Canada poke into box top left, stab a slow roller to 8m center, gk collects. 89' 0-1 #17 Prince offside.
90' 0-1 #6 Kyle beasts a couple of kids, takes their ball up right touch. Holds vs. 2, wins a right throw-in just behind midfield. China wins it back. +4'.
90+3' (of +4') 0-1 Off a right throw-in, Canada pokes it through box top center, #_ runs around the last defender and almost gets there, but the gk gathers. 90+4' (of +4') 0-1 China surges frantically to box top left, disrupted. 90+5' (of +4') 0-1 China hoofs it into the right corner, crosses from 8m wide right to ~15m. Weak shot goes roughly goalward, stopped by #? at 6-top (her) left. She settles and boots it out, and FT.
