So the first discrepancy. MLSSoccer.com shows Colorado hosting Chivas on 4/25 (a Thursday). Both team sites show the game on 5/25 (a Saturday). The teams aren't double booked on either date, so I'm guessing a typo at MLSSoccer.com and the game is really in May.

Credit where it's due: this is probably the earliest they've ever completed the full schedule.

    Yup.

Because FIFA/Concacaf are using Fri/Tues dates.

MLS will still be playing some of their games with likely depleted rosters on those Sa/Su dates within some FIFA international match periods.

I thought that they were mirroring the schedule from last year. For example, last year, The Union played the Crew once at home and twice on the road and Houston twice on the road and once at home. This year, I thought that the reverse was supposed to be true, but apparently the Union are now playing Montreal and Sporting KC twice at home and once on the road, whereas last year the Union only played them once at home and once on the road.

I have not done the hard math, but I think with an odd number of teams you could not do an exact mirror.

Yeah, I think the exact mirror was for the West (where each team had 8 conference opponents and 10 out of conference opponents). In the East where its 9 and 9 an exact mirror probably wouldn't be mathematically possible.

yep, but at the point where you cannot do half the league, it makes doing the whole league (since they cross over) rather difficult.

VAN at MTL or VAN at TFC would be God's preferred choices for MLS Cup 2013.

Although he'll probably settle on something more comical like CUSA at NER and the extra markings on the artificial turf.

Within the Eastern Conference it isn't a straight mirror. Teams play 7 of the 9 conference foes three times. Those 7 rotate so the home and away can't be a straight swap.

Last year Houston played Columbus and New England only twice. This year we play Toronto and Philly only twice each.

As noted in the Rapids forum, the first meeting between Seattle and Colorado (the two states that legalized) is on 4/20. That had to be intentional by MLS, right? :D

So, they are adding about a week to the playoffs?

Hopefully, they will spread out the playoffs more than they did this past year. I wonder if that bye week will still hang around between the conference championships and MLS Cup Final. I hope not.

It almost certainly will. That's Thanksgiving weekend and it gives an extra week to get ready to host the Cup.

Speaking of games on TV at which location.. Here's the full list.. Perhaps unsurprisingly NY and LA get the most appearances. RSL, NER, and Columbus get the shaft for US teams.

I wonder if the games on UniMas means the end of games on Galavision. I get UniMas over the air here in the Philly area in HD, so I'd be able to pick up an additional 25 matches that I would've lost had they been on Galavision.

No games shown on the National TV schedule on Galavision. Looks like everything has been moved to UniMas. And one game on Univision.
