I agree to some extent, but he can definitely stay on. Obviously I don't know the wage demands and I wouldn't expect him to budge much, but if it's reasonable to both the player and the club, he should stay.
Therein lies the rub though. What is reasonable to one is looking less and less likely to be reasonable to the other. As much as the years and the salary I wonder if playing time is also being discussed (Lamps obviously would love to play as much as possible and wonder if he's being offered a big cut in terms of time on the pitch). One can but speculate. Still wouldn't be shocked to see an announcement of a pre-deal with MLS with him departing as soon as we've, hopefully, lifted the FA Cup. But please, let cool heads prevail and give him a 2 year deal........
It is not at this point a matter of wages by most accounts; it is a matter of him being offerd nothing, no contract by the ptb
Right you are. [link] I cannot fathom why the ptb would refuse to offer the man another contract. It makes me very, very angry because it's not like Frank is clearly a washed up player. His performances this season are proof of the contrary.
Chelsea officials are really not doing themselves any favours by letting the only attributable quotes being made by Frank's money man (not refuting a clear cut statement or anything). In my blind optimism, I guess I'm hopeful that recent rumours of talks taking place aren't the usual invention of some fat tabloid hack but of course one stands to be disappointed when relying on hope rather than facts.
Well then.... Thanks mate, pretty sure I saw it posted but thought it was in here. Really, my just trying to get my post count up.
like you mate I am on a mobile device atm and that was the only way I could direct you to the article
meh, remember Kuntner was guilty of similar tactics last time with Lamps. Wait and see before getting the pitchforks and torches imo
Frank Lampard. Even though Coley is STILL the best LB in the world and albeit not as much of a club legend as Lamps (dont really care about his arsenal days) i think Lamps is truly one of a kind. The only box to box CM player to score 4 goals in the game, and he did it twice, more assists then xavi and scholes in less games played, more gaols too obviously, more than 20 goals a season in 9 consecutive seasons... the list goes on.
The Club, through the shithead fsw, has already basically confirmed, that Lamp and Cole as well, are free to go in the summer sans any offer, so quite different situations and just the time for fire and sharp pokes imo burn it all sort the ashes later I say kind of a bad analogy though really, we are already on fire and under seige, Roman and the minions need a cold bucket of sensible water, really...
so scoring in all three last rounds of the cl and fa cup is not as important as scoring 91 mostly insignificant goals in a YEAR but not a SEASON? i see.... i see.
L'Equipe reporting we've agreed to terms and triggered buyout for Fellaini. 27m. http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Fellaini-vers-chelsea/341014
Our new DM? And that's a lot of hair between him and Bob. Christ, with those two in the wall, the free kick taker wouldn't be able to see the goal.
Not to mention the added aerial attack we would posses. Cahill, Ivan, Fellaini, Ba. And Terry if he ever comes back.
Lukaku will stay at West Brom through end of season. Recall option has expired. http://www.wba.co.uk/news/article/lukaku-to-complete-season-at-albion-588274.aspx
Good, finish the season there and finish strong. Anyone think another season on loan is a good idea. I'd like to season one more on loan.
I see Lukaku staying on loan next season too and being brought into the team in year 3. I see a young proven striker in the price range of 10-15 mil coming in the summer. Torres will be seeing off his contract here unless we do a Torres+cash deal for Falcao which I don't think will happen. So Torres, Ba and a young striker would set us for next season. Now if Lukaku really lights up in the 2nd half and would be ok being 3rd choice, it could be him but cannot see that happening.
A question was raised to me and I didn't really know the right answer, just my feeling on it. Do any of you know how much Rafa is getting to input on player acquisitions? I am thinking he has little input, but I don't know for sure.
