To counter your argument - how much of that time has he had under Dominic Kinnear? how much consistent first team playing time did he actually have before 2012?

When I first saw Joe Ngwenya play I thought he was absolutley horrid. Joe became a key component to our success by the end of his first stay with us.

I have seen improvement with Big Mac from his play with previous teams. He isn't anywhere near over the hill. He's just a late bloomer.

Jevaughn Watson is a similar case but maybe more of a challenge mentally.

    i got this one!

IMO Joseph Ngwenya did not improve as much as you think he did, he was still the same player he always was when he first arrived (for proof see his second stint with the club). the system, the players around him and coaching allowed him to have mild success by masking his limitations but it no way made him (by himself) an overall better player (Matt Schuab anyone?)*.

i know a lot of people thought i was nuts that i was ragging on Kandji's limitations when he was hot in the summer and we were on our streak that had a large part of putting us in the playoffs, but i have a view that you must always improve your team and evaluate the true worth of a player to a team when he is both hot and cold. because (hot or cold) streaks don't last.

Maybe he had a bad run of form in the playoffs but so did Will Bruin in 2011.

Despite Mac Attacks' current limitations, he has aspects that this team needs to help the other players 'mask their limiatations' (speed, strength, technical ability, athelticism).

It comes down to value for the money and future potential return.

Is he being paid too much? Maybe.

If he comes back at a better dollar amount, will our investment turn into better performances and grow into better market value? I think so.

From what I'm reading here, it sounds very much like this Alex Lopez is exactly the type of player we need. An AM who can hold the ball, create, and score as well. After our acquisition of Omar Cummings, I'd say that the description of Lopez's abilities is the last piece of the puzzle needed.

I'd love to see it happen.

The white Nate Jaqua will be back in orange in 2013! The King of CONCACAF. The Terror of Tegucigalpa, The assassin of Arabe Unidos. The monster of Metapan. The butcher of Charleston Battery. The renegade of the Reserve League.

I am personally a fan of the White Nate Jaqua, I like what he brings to our CCL roster when we play against the undersized central american teams. I also do not mind him as an 80th minute sub, even if he only is used in that way when Ching has the day off.

I can only hope that he eventually moves to Celtic. They're the only remaining team in the SPL that'll give him decent competition. The other teams in the SPL aren't really competitive, and I'll rank them lower than some MLS teams. However, I do understand that the money may be more over there and that more people will be watching him since he'll be playing in Europe, and this could lead to a bigger club eventually. We'll see what happens.

Actually, if you want competition in the SPL, wouldn't you have to play against Celtic? :)

Seriously though, I don't quite get that move over MLS.

Inner-squad matches, training regiment, Champions League, Europa League... I think being in Celtic is the winning combination. :p

true that. :) But hey, he had his adventure already. I am not sure how much more he would make in the SPL.

I think the same could be said for Cam. Or is this why he is being called the White Nate Jaqua?
