That's the rumor making the rounds today. Potentially announcing Thursday since Garber is in town for a media Q&A.

Do you think they'd announce the jersey sponsor too, to get more bang, or are most bets on draft day?

I would separate the announcements to get more press but that's just me.

I don't think they'd do that and they may not be able to until the draft. Mls may be looking to unveil all the new jerseys at the same time.

That would make sense too. Though, I could see the sponsor announcement kind of getting lost in the ether of draft day as opposed to doing it when the Don is in the house and announcing KC gets ASG.

We only have 1 draft pick, I doubt it would get lost locally (where it matters).

Probably the hint Robb dropped on Twitter a few days ago about us liking the draft. I can see the draftee holding up the new jersey while shaking Robb's or PV's hand.
Regarding ASG, I am wondering if this early announcement allows SKC to include it in season ticket package. I believe other host teams have done that. Wow...we could potentially host 25-30 games at LSP this season with USOC, CCL, ASG, WCQ, and playoffs. Whew! :)

That's assuming the player we draft would actually be at the draft, that's not a guarantee.

25 to 30 games? That's 500-600 dollars, and only if I buy tickets in the Cauldron! It's a good thing I have nothing better to spend money on. :)

not a guarantee, but I believe that the last 5 #14 pick (David Horst 2008, George John 2009, Austin da Luz 2010, Victor Estupian 2011 and Tony Cascio 2012) attended the draft.

I'm not positive on da Luz - I just can't recall.

Assuming that the ASG comes here, any guesses on an opponent? Can I dream that it be Barcelona and Messi?

When does MLS announce the opponenet? I can't remember. All Stars have played enough EPL teams. La liga or Serie A would be nice.

Just to get the speculation rolling, if you look at the tags at the bottom of the MLS.com article about the season schedule, for some reason they tag FC Barcelona. I can't think of any other reason to tag a La Liga team in an MLS schedule article unless they have something to do with the MLS schedule.

Not sure I'm ready to believe that, I'd love for it to be Barca, but last year Chelsea wasn't announced until April, and the year before Manchester United wasn't announce until March.

Jersey sponsor is happening. At this point I'd be more surprised if we don't announce one before the season.

Good eye. However, if you click on the FC Barcelona tag it will show you a list of other articles with the Barcelona tag... and it finds 23 pages of results (@15 per page).

Some of the older articles actually appear to be Barcelona related, but most of the new ones tag all 19 MLS teams plus Barcelona for no obvious reason.
