I take no responsibility for the "interesting" translations but.... Compliments of Google Translate: After a short vacation in the country and with the promise to return next January 10 to join the national team, the Houston Dynamo player in MLS, Boniek Garcia revealed that his current club aims to reach an agreement with the leadership merengue to take the services of the young player Alexander Lopez. And is that apparently the wheel catracho, trying to end the rumors about who the players are interested in the American League, revealed that Lopez is one of the candidates to follow several steps that you shine in that country, and that in his opinion, Dynamo coach was interested in him from Olympia who they faced in the Qualification Tournament. Garcia, who is summoned to defend the title selection Central on 18 January in San Jose Costa Rica, did not hide his satisfaction at the level showing footballers in that league, saying it is a great showcase to demonstrate the good football played in Honduras. "Thank God things are going well me in football, these days I travel, but I have scheduled to return on January 10 for joining the national team, is a new challenge that fortunately many local players are going through, I am glad that many Hondurans are in the sights of the MLS, this is healthy for the Honduran football. " "I will not deny that coach Houston Dynamo showed interest in Alexander Lopez, but I will have to talk to the board of the Olympia, they are the ones who decide, since the last game here in Honduras noted qualities and could be another opportunity to have in that league. " As for what will be a new look at the upcoming 2013 American Cup, the national football player said he wishes all face competition, and that in his opinion already has the approval of the coaching staff of his team. "I have wanted to start well and retain the American title, that's the idea, I feel there is enough equipment, but that depends on us, I think the tournament will be a good barometer of face the playoffs that begin with the United States. "
I just don't see Alex leaving.. Danilo Tosello just came back from his vacations in Argentina, and I think Alex is going to be a bigger player in his team this coming Clausura. Danilo said he doesn't know anything about Alex leaving just yet, but acknowledges that he does have interest from teams abroad. Unless the money is really good for Olimpia to sell Alex, I just can't see them letting him go with another year or so left on his contract.
So I have it under good authority his contract is up in the summer. I cannot confirm but if true they may take what they can get if he is set on leaving.
I don't think its up in the summer lol. From all his interviews he sounds like he isn't in any rush to leave and happy to be at the club. We'll probably hear something when Ferrari comes back from Miami next week.
As I said unconfirmed ....but I am fairly confident in the source. I asked earlier, does anyone have a link to details on his contract?
I agree. I especially like that attempting to sign him indicates that Dom also sees that we need someone with the right skills for the attacking midfield role. If we can sign him, or another quality player in the summer, then, well, ok. That's better than not signing another quality player at all. We know that a later signing works out fine in MLS. But we'd still lose the opportunity to make a run at the CCL over the next few months. I think we're at least one more quality attacking player away from being able to knock out a good Mexican club.
this is the answer I've gotten from reporters in Honduras: that means he would still have two seasons left on his contract. Which is what I previously stated, but since its Olimpia.. you may really never know. Luis Garrido their own players thought his contract was up this season, only to find out that he had another three seasons left on his contract.
I think he's a GA signing. All the GAs should be gone by the time it gets to us (unless we trade up, of course). But he would make a second IU Hoosier, along with Bruin. So don't tell newtex!
With all that allocation money; PLUS the fact that we could use some more cap room by maybe trading a player . . . I think it is VERY possible to see us trade our pick + a player OR our pick + allocation to move up and get a GA contract.
Just saw Giles Barnes is training at Nottingham Forest (not sure if this was discussed before): https://twitter.com/infromthetrent/status/288275208576593921/photo/1
shouldn't mean much i posted this a few days ago http://www.houstondynamo.com/news/2013/01/catching-giles-barnes
I make no prediction on who we may trade . . . but it would not surprise me to see us clear a bit more cap room by a combination of trading a player and moving up to get a GA player. That being said, there is only three players on the roster right now that I would comfortable moving. *As a side note, anyone notice Andre and Kandji are not on the website but Weaver still is? Also, Sturgis is still there and not Cummings (maybe not final yet pending physicals). Could be just slow updates, but they took the time to remove the two players and put Brunner on the site.
I hope Big Mac resigns. I think he has potential still. He didn't play very well in the playoffs, but with more coaching and game experiences I think he becomes better. I feel he was very valuable for us in the regular season - especially his play late in games when we had a lead. Teams like Olimpia and KC were pressuring us into a wilt and he was the only guy who could keep possession and actually threaten to break out. He got mauled but it put enough fear into other teams and gave us some time to breathe in those games. He also put in some nice goals too. He needs to work on: 1) his decision making in the final third, 2) his aerial game, and 3) getting some bigger calf muscles (I have never seen such toothpicks on big man). I think he has loads of technical ability and athleticism he just needs more from a real coach like the Dom and company. Same for Mr Jevaughn Watson.
If it is true that Weaver has been re-rigned, I would be mildly surprised if Kandji comes back given our cap position. Now, my cap numbers are estimates but if I am close both he and Weaver coming back would pretty much lock us down from any other major moves (after you add in any draft picks that hit budget).
Kandji is 27 and has been playing professionally for 7 years and played college before that. I think his potential has been realized by now and I wouldn't expect to see drastic improvements in his game.
Toronto & San Jose also persuing Alex Lopez. http://www.wakingthered.com/2013/1/...asing-honduran-alexander-lopez-rumour-mls-tfc
