Holtby didn't sign a new contract, expires in the summer.

It's a no-brainer signing. Talented, speaks the language, on a free and wages affordable (£67k a week and 500k signing on fee).

Would be nice to see him join now, seeing as the number 10 spot doesn't have a fixed starter, but waiting till the summer is fine and gives him all preseason to settle in.

Wow!!! So we got this kid on a free. Amazing signing. Truly unreal. God I love what Mr. Levy has done with us and things look good.

I really like this signing, makes our squad much stronger, would much rather have him hear now tbh but great signing nonetheless

Please can somebody provide a breakdown of his game? Strength, weakness, similar players?

Wonder what the fee would've been to get him here six months early.

interesting paragraph in that article: "While this season has seen Holtby more active in the goalscoring charts with three to his name already, he has tallied ‘just’ two assists in his seven appearances. Not that he doesn’t play a huge part in Schalke’s attack – with a considerable amount of the midfielder’s 291 completed passes counting as key passes: ones which precede an assist or play a significant part in counter attacks."

that part alone sounds similar to what Modric gave us

i guess it all depends on whether Levy thinks Spurs can stay in top 4 for the next 4 months without him

    Strengths:
Vision offensively and defensively, versatility, tactical education and awareness, understanding of the game.
Very good technical skills for a CM/DM, very good defensive workload and understanding for an attacking player. Great passer.
    Weaknesses:
Not very explosive for a winger. Not very tall and strong for a DM. Not a very quick dribbler for an AM.
    Similar players:
    Schweinsteiger, Iniesta, Pirlo, Modric

Lascho, you're saying we got a guy similar to Modric on a free (or nominal transfer fee at worst)?
