Suarez is a great player, but some of the defending that has allowed him to score some of those goal have been simply atrocious. EPL defending quality has come way down.
Sure but that's true with the goals by any striker. His ability to control long passes sent his way is simply amazing! Nobody does it better IMO.
Gotta love Man city and Chelsea beaten with a goal by former players. SWP and Adam Johnson shows what Torres and Balotelli cant do.
Yeah, I was surprised when I read in that article that Balotelli was sold to Man City for 24m pounds! And Torres went for something like €50 to Chelsea(?). In hindsight, that is over-valuing Torres by at least a factor of 5, while Balotelli is probably not even worth a free transfer at this point, despite his great potential.
Pepe got ankle surgery and is out for a month. LPB may have to find a replacement in the winter transfer market or, failing that, recruit out of some local maximum-security prisons.
How does fernando torres ever get a game anymore. I watched the chelsea game yesterday and he was absolutely terrible, worst player on the pitch by a country mile (including all of the QPR players).
imo Torres deserves more credit than he does. I mean sure, he isn't too great and definitely has his off moments, but he isn't THAT bad. And he is the top scorer of his team anyway, which is SOMETHING.
Kevin Prince Boateng leads Milan teammates off the pitch after local lower-division Pro Patria fans heckle him with racial abuse in a friendly. Sad scenes reminiscent of Eto'o's "no más" at La Romareda a few years back.
good for him (boating). i'd like to see this happen in a big game (the walking off in protest, not the chanting). maybe then UEFA/FIFA might actually do something. if this happened in a UCL or WC game it would cost UEFA/FIFA a ton of money, and would force Blatter to change his stance that "there is no racism in football". money is the only thing they understand so unless it starts to cost them money to do nothing, they won't do anything meaningful. as it is, the racists are paying the same ticket prices as everyone else, so the suits don't want to loose those paying customers. protests like this would change that equation.
Yeah. Racism needs to be fought in many ways, but it's tough to see it disappearing from football entirely anytime soon as what's in world, is in football world as well. Clubs selling tickets are able to track the people who caused any major stir, and one way is to simply ban these people from stadiums. Of course this has problems in practice, but still.
Suarez is nothing like Tevez in terms of attitude, he's a very humble player. He does some crazy things on the pitch sometimes, but no signs of any of that this season. He's maturing and he's become one of the best players in his position right now. If we can't get Neymar, I'd certainly try and go for him. No Pepe for games in Pamplona, Valencia, and the Copa semifinal match against Barca that may happen at the end of the month. Excellent.
Not so sure its the minority. Notice the first instinct of some of the home team players was anger at Boetang for kicking the ball in the crowd. That's Italy.
All his goals are meaningless though. He is easily Chelsea's worst player who gets regular playing time. Spain's worst too. Nobody watching that game felt Torres would score. Maybe if Mata and someone else made it 2-nil, then Torres would score a late insurance goal, but as long as it was tied or Chelsea losing, Torres was never going to score.
Yea by doing racial slur, diving from time to time, refuse to shake hand, diving celebration in front of opponent's coach, earning 7 match suspension for biting player shoulder, throwing middle finger to Fullham supporter, banned by Ajax for fighting in dressing room. I wonder if you're actually a wise man or sometimes you just had no idea what you're talking about.
Which of those things have happend this season? Maybe if you actually read the rest of the post, you would see that I said he is maturing in that respect and behaving a lot more professionally these days. He's actually a very nice, humble guy but because of some antics he pulled off in the past, not many people will notice that. He certainly doesn't have the attitude of a Balotelli or a Tevez though, that's for sure. He's just like Messi in the sense that he always wants to play and never wants to rest, I think even the Liverpool coach said it recently. I'm not saying he's my first pick to come here, but if we can't get Neymar in the end, then why not? He isn't playing Champions League football, can play in any of the front three positions, and he is a good bet for a 20+ goal a season player. He adapts very well to situations and that's what I think we could use because there aren't many better options out there.
Agreed. I can't imagine any team that he wouldn't succeed at. He produces for Uruguay and Liverpool neither of which are exactly power-houses. More important in Uruguay's World cup run than Forlan was IMO, yet Forlan got all the accolades (not just most, but all). He'd fit well with Barca, but I just can't see Liverpool letting him go. He's their whole team.
i like suarez, excellent player and would fit in very well. i think he has been treated unfairly in england.
Suarez is solid. But can't see us go for both Neymar and Suarez (and don't want to anyway), and I'd guess we try to go for Neymar.
Ba relegates Torres to the bench and scores 2 in his day view. Looks like Torres will be seeing a whole more of the bench from now on. And ManU does it again by scoring a goal in the 90th staring elimination to secure a tie and a replay. The tying goal was a nice 40 yard pass from Giggs which RVP trapped and finished perfectly. Worth a look.
