Looks like the Packers/Vikings rematch will take place on Saturday the 5th at 7pm...the Wave/Syracuse game is slated for 6pm that night. I sure hope they sold a lot of tickets in advance for that game or the team is going to take it in the pocketbook that night. I wouldn't expect more than a couple hundred people in attendance that night if that many. On the bright side, I do plan on picking up some really cheap game used jerseys that night.
Even if we do go over the cliff, you can make your own retirement plan. Just pick up the Ian Bennett jersey and sell it to cardshopmd (Lewis M) for double. Baxter
WaveFan...there is a Marquette game followed by an Admirals game on Saturday as well which always hurts ticket sales. First game after the holidays vs Packer playoff game...best case scenario is lots of groups scheduled for the game. They do have a day long youth futsal tournament which could help ticket numbers
That's what I'm thinking, presale should be decent but there likely won't be a walk up crowd at all. To compound matters if the Packers win their game the following weekend against the 49ers would again be directly head to head with the Wave. Two straight weekends are going to kill attendance figures.
The Packer game may also hurt attendance at the Rockford Rampage home game against Dallas this Saturday night. Rockford is not far from the Wisconsin border, and there are a lot of Packer fans in the Rockford area.
I heard that the wave are trying to bump This game untill Sunday not sure if they were able to get it done . I think it would be a good Idea
That was what was hinted at during the game, but the team posted late yesterday on FB that tickets were on sale for the Saturday game.
The Blast should be ok for Friday and Saturday since the Ravens dont play untill Sunday . Friday is Mini Ball Night so I expect a lot of kids will be at the game its not going to help me with my anxiety thats for sure ..
Wave Fan, Did you pick up any jerseys over the weekend? Hope you got Ian Bennett's. cardshopmd will pay dearly for that one. Baxter
Actually there were more people at the game then expected, they ran a futsal tourney before the game and a lot of people were still hanging around from that. Now I'm not saying attendance was anywhere near what was reported, but it was significantly larger than the 200 or so we got during the Philly game a couple years ago. This week I think is going to be the game to hoard jerseys at, everyone knew that the game would interfere with the 49ers game so I think both walkup and advanced ticket sales will suffer. I plan on trying to snipe one or two from that game.
This just in!!! Wave has bumped the start time of this weekend's game back to 4pm so it doesn't interfere with the Packer's game. That's awesome!!!! For those of you not from WI who think that a Packer's game shouldn't effect crowds in Milwaukee, you couldn't be more wrong. When the Packers are on, the entire state essentially shuts down, even more so in the playoffs. It's hard for people outside the area to understand, but they might as well be called the Wisconsin Packers because the entire state shuts down when the Packers are on.
I wasn't going to go, but with the new start time, I'll be there and I'll be bringing some friends. Awesome news!
Great to hear!!!! Where do you normally sit? We're down in 109 row 1, pop down and say hi if you want to!
