Hopefully Kagawa can make this game. I wonder if RvP is going to be rested at all in the festive period - maybe another game with Chicharito up top? Cleverley to start in midfield please. I imagine Young will get a start as well.

I wonder why RvP seems to disappear when Cheech starts. They both came around in the 2nd half against Newcastle, but it seems RvP doesn't range around like he does when Rooney plays.

I imagine it's more crowded up front with Cheech and RvP as opposed to Wazza and RvP. Wayne will drop back and go to collect the ball in midfield, at least more than Cheech does,.

So far RVP played in more games than anyone on our team. More than Carrick or Evra. We're lucky he's been holding up well so far, but he's been needing a rest for a while now.

I thought that was Rafael, West Brom are missing Yacob, and may miss Mulumbu and Olsson, will take away some of their physical edge if true, still not an easy game.

Fully agree Stud, I think both Carrick and RvP need to be managed through the Xmas period and really the rest of the year. So far, those 2 have had to play simply because of other deficiencies.

The idea of our midfield without Carrick scares the living hell out of me.

It has been the same for me for some 4 years now, he has played 45 games on average in these 4 years, imagine that.

It's a credit to him for his conditioning and fitness.

And an indictment of our midfield.

If Danny is good to go, I would start him and Cheech but he will probably have to play on the wing given our lack of fit wingers.

i'm actually comfortable with an anderson-clev midfield. i only get worried if anyone else but two of these three are playing CM.

danny badly needs a game up top for his own psyche. in a somewhat surprising twist this year (at least for me), rvp doesn't seem to enjoy dropping deep to get the ball so he theoretically fits much better with danny than cheech.

    RvP needs a rest though.

Also, we started to click best against Newcastle when robin came deep and orchestrated our breaks.

Fully agree that Danny needs a game. This has been a pretty listless half season for him.

At least there's a cup game vs West Ham and the first team will be able to rest for almost 2 weeks until Liverpool on 13th.

RVP plays in this one and sits out Wigan and West Ham.

Looks like the conditions at the game will be terrible due to the rain. Not going to help United.

Can't rest RvP for this one given our injuries otherwise.
