....if we're benching Nani, whoops I mean he "hurt his hammy", then we don't have much option than to persist with Valencia. The only other option is to use Smalling as an RB and place Rafa at the wing position.
People actually believe that Fergie would need to make up an excuse if he wanted to bench Nani or that better yet, Nani's agent would not leak it??

Phelg life baby. I can only assume Danny is injured or Fergie is giving him some time off. I don't see how Giggs, Valencia and Cheech all play and he's not even an option on the bench when we drop/rest Rooney.
It is a 442 with Giggs and Valencia as wingers. The worst thing about this formation/line up is that it will probably work. Newcastle will play open football and if either Giggs or Scholes is on their game, or if Carrick plays a blinder, we'll create a couple genuine chances and as far as finishing goes, we've got our best pairing to capitalize on that. If we do take a lead, we'll likely carve them up.
I'm speechless. I thought 3pts were vital after dropping a couple at Swansea? I guess we're just happy to cede any athleticism and energy in midfield. 2 in their late 30's and 1 with a bad back.....good luck Carrick.
Not the most ideal starting XI. If Valencia continues his recent form, we could be in for a long-long afternoon. Especially so with Smalling behind him, we won't have too much going for us in terms of attacking down that righ side. Giggs did really well in his brief cameo against Swansea and he'll be on the wing so I don't think that's much of an issue. In fact, I'm looking forward to a good performance from him. Scholes, on the other hand, hasn't been playing too well recently. If he can put in an acceptable performance at least, I think we'll be fine, though. But where the ******** is Danny?! He really needs some minutes and this game would've been perfect for him.
Rooney will probably screw up the chances like he's been doing all season so i'm not too excited about the chances unless they all fall to RVP #Imjustsaying Edit: I see he's on the bench #ThankYouLord
