There's a lot of violence and anger during amateur games around that age and older. KNVB should do more about it, but they're too afraid they will lose too many (paying) members. They've actually reduced sanctions recently after complaints from the clubs. I think a lot of blame should go to the involving team coaches and escorts/staff for not stepping up when it happened or disciplining their kids accordingly during the game. What baffled me the most was that they apparently take kick box classes next to their regular training as a way to give them "fighting spirit". Experiment failed horribly I say.
Mr. HeSo...was the deceased maybe listed in the Dutch phone book or anything? I'd like to try and maybe make a small donation to the family on their loss. Thanks, MAS
Perhaps social media is easier to get into contact with his family. https://twitter.com/Buitenboys/ (twitter account of his club) https://www.facebook.com/CondoleanceOverledenGrensrechterAlmere http://www.condoleance.nl/14021/richard-nieuwenhuizen.html
Mourners march commemorate death of killed assistant referee The death of volunteer linesman in a Dutch youth league, Richard Nieuwenhuizen, due to injuries after the beating of some young players received much attention from football fans especially in Holland. Commemorating his passing away, 12,000 people held a silent march on Sunday evening, ignoring the wind and rain. The march was only for local villagers
it was a very tragic and cruel moment in Dutch football, though politicians don't need to take useless measures. Yellow card for protesting to the ref is the most retarded rule they ever made. condolences go out to the members of the victim's family
The only tune that keeps circling through my head when hearing about all this is Zinloos - Langefrans/baasB What could we possibly do to prevent these deaths? I have no idea. Teenagers being able to kill a referee at a footballmatch, teenagers being able to drive other teenagers to suicide through bullying at schools.. People dont need much reason to kill or cause pain, we never needed much. And ''much'' is subjective, sadly. (both from the person who causes it aswell the person who receives) Utopia doesnt excist for a reason. We are likely to forever continue to mourn and 'learn' from our 'mistakes'. Or atleast untill the next hot item comes up at the news, which never takes more than 2 weeks.. What were we talking about again? A whale stranded on the beach? A radio publicity stunt which get people to donate money just so they can bloat about it? The dutch electronicalmedicalpatientsdossier in hands of an american company which is to obey to the patriot act? Nah, it was a celebrity cheating on another celebrity im sure.. Nobody really cares. Especially me, but then again im a cynical douchebag.
Former Dutch super stars are going to play a match for the family of the lines man, among them Patrick Kluivert, Edwin van der Sar, Frank en Ronald de Boer, Marc Overmars, Pierre van Hooijdonk, Rob en Richard Witschge, Arthur Numan en Roy Makaay. Ruud Gullit: coach.
Thanks so much for that information...much appreciated! Not sure why my "rep" button doesn't work here, but consider your post "repped" by me in spirit!!!
Doesn't look like it sadfully. Maher was the subject of racist tauntings in Rotterdam over the weekend. They were making sheep noises whenever he was on the ball and were singing his name in an unflattering manner. As if Dutch football wasn't bad mouthed enough already after this incident and the behaviour towards Altidore recently in Den Bosch.
