In fairness, during the initial season ticket push for the new stadium, the Dynamo certainly implied that STHs could have the option to buy their seats for other events. IT was not promised, but they never flat said NO when asked (I recall on one of those conference calls someone asked that exact question and they got a vague answer - not a yes but not a no either). I never heard it promised, but I could see where some would think that. I think President's Club members got their seats for all events, you all could tell me if club seat holders get crack at their seats first.

Once again, this is the area of overlap where the team/FO takes credit for bringing an event to the stadium, but then divorces itself from the event when it comes to the event operation. Canetti sure isn't shy about his role in bringing events here, but then claims not to have any pull or sway with stadium ops issues.

No they work same way Reliant, Cleveland Muni, and the Jake work. I assume they all work this way. Suites get seats, others get first crack at buying but not own chair. Including Club, no special treatment there. As for Presidents they don't get their seats per se. The team actually buys that whole section for an event and then offers them to their customers. And it is ten events picked by the FO. So even there, the club has to buy those tickets using president club revenue to pay for it. I know a few here can verify that but I don't think even they get to log on for any event and choose their seat for whatever event they want. So the team could not offer that unless they were going to buy 12k seats every event from the promoter of said event. In short, works like everywhere I have had seats. The FO might have hedged since they using a new ticket system this year...don't remember that issue but I don't know.

i dont understand why its difficult to understand that this event is not run by the Dynamo but by the USSF?

if you're a Club America season ticket holder you don't get your same seats when there's a Mexico NT game at Azteca! <=== does that help any?

It's difficult because fans see the Dynamo FO going in for shoulder rehab due to patting themselves on the back for "bringing" these events here and then wonder why they have no control over it when they ask. Most on this board get it, not sure how many others get it.

Look, I get the pre-sale codes and emails for all of the BBVA events and that certainly seems fine for me. That's what most teams that run the venues do (just spare me the whole "Dynamo doesn't run or have influence with BBVA Compass Stadium", just don't go there, it's bogus). Hell, I get emails with pre-sale codes from venues all over the US where I either bought tickets or were on some waiting list in a previous decade.

Anyone got a word on the ticket sales for this? Looking at AXS, we've got sort of the same odd seat availablity distribution issue like they had with the USWNT game - no seats at all available in the west side corners (TV side), which concerns me that ticket sales are not hot and so they aren't opening up the full stadium.

StubHub has a moderate amount of seats available. I love section 126, 65 seats available, most of them in the quantity of 1-8 in the same row, which is clearly scalpers buying the max for each transaction available during the presale.

I am having quite a battle with AXS right now. I thought i liked them since they seem to be the anti-ticketmaster, but as of now they have been worthless.

I see Brad Davis getting called in for this game. It's past time Klinsmann game him a shot, and I mean, it's in Houston...

Hmmm, Canetti just tweeted that Brad and Tally aren't going to Conn. as planned. Something has come up that keeps them from going. Interesting. We'll see in a bit, I hope....

Yup. Davis, Bruin, and Hall get calls.

Happy for Davis, who has probably been overlooked at times.

Bruin will probably get a lot of chances in his career.

Hall is a great call-up. He's at least as good as Hamid or Johnson. I think better, but I'm a but biased and have seen a lot more of him. Great opportunity. Hope he gets the most out of it.

    Just saw the roster.

I'm being kind here but what a joke. What in the heck is Klinsmann thinking?

We're past looking at a lot of these players and should be getting the main team together as this is the last friendly before qualifiers.

Sorry but I see what? Maybe three or four guys that have a chance of making the roster for the qualifiers. Yeah, I'm happy for Brad but now I'm wondering why I shelled out the money I did to see who? A.J. DeLaGarza? Justin Morrow? Connor Lade?

No offense to those guys but none of them (amongst others) are gonna be anywhere near the 23 man roster.

I don't know how anyone can be happy about this.

Wonder if I can get a refund?

Klinsmann is limited into how many guys from the Euro clubs he can get in there prior to the qualifier, so the January camp is almost always guys from MLS + other leagues with winter breaks. ERob was in there about 5-6 years ago.

The qualifier is on the 6th and they only get guys released maybe a week before then so the Canada game will be the B or C team (a Gold Cup preview).

Klinsmann said 6-8 guys may make the travel squad to Honduras. Davis has a chance to make the squad IMO.

If it's not an official date then correct. If it is an official international date, then he can call in who he wants.

Either way, I don't see much use for this friendly and frankly, it shouldn't have been scheduled in my opinion.

The A team players are in the middle of their campaigns and will not come to camp. This camp is to get a look at various players. The Canada game should still be good, but it is just a friendly.

The 29th is not an official date. Feb. 6th is. Remember that CONCACAF uses a bit of a different calendar than UEFA and others with respect to international dates so many times friendlies fall outside of official dates.

Camp Cupcake always has its uses. Historically at least 2 players from Cupcake the year before a WC make the roster, also this is usually the best chance the US coach has to see players in MLS or other similar leagues (winter break leagues). This is how we build depth and, this year, prepare for the Gold Cup.

This is absolutely a needed camp/game and I can't believe Klinnsi, even for a second, considered canceling it. For all he knows Bruin or Lade or whomever could come in and kill, get put on the Hex roster and play a key role in qualifying as has happened many times in the past (take a bow, Cameron. 2012 Camp Cupcake Winner)

I really want to see how Omar Gonzalez and Geoff Cameron play together in central defense. I've mentioned before that I think that's our likely starting pair in 2014.

The US will play 10 WCQs and some 5-6 more GC games in 2013. That's a lot of opportunities for a lot of guys. Only a handful of players in this camp will be on the roster against Honduras, but more will certainly make other rosters this year, especially in the GC.

Btw, Klinsmann also mentioned that a couple more players from Germany (i.e., Jones) may be added later to this camp.

I'd like to think Hall has a chance as well. I personally believe his is more solid than Hamid in goal with a lot more seasoning. There needs to be a heir apparent to Howard, and I think that race is wide open . . .

I also like that some of our key players are getting to work early in advance of the CCL series with SL. This only bodes well for the orange.

Those were my same thoughts. Bruin, Davis, and Hall should gain fitness and form.

You can nitpick over particular players, but for the most part Camp Cupcake is intended to bleed young MLS Players into the national team pool for the most part. While I think Conor Lade and a 2nd division german league non-starter have very little likelihood of contributing to the full national team ever, every once in a while a player of that ilk will surprise you. Mix in the 5-10 fringe national team players (like Hall, O. Gonzalez) that have a chance to make a strong case for inclusion with the starters and these things have their purpose.

This camp is needed. There can be anywhere from 6-8 players from this roster on the WCQing roster.

Also this team can be the base for the Gold Cup.
