Someone should make a thread for FIFA Career mode. I'm curious what changes you guys make with RSL. I'm hoping we can get Javi to stay, but the wait is making me nervous.
My FIFA career was about true to form for RSL. They immediately tried to send me on loan and when nobody picked me up I was about to play about 4 games that season while players where injured. Somehow got sold to Santos of Brazil, who promptly sent me on loan to Shamrock United in the Irish league. Tore it up there and have been playing with Neymar since.
Whoa! The sold me to Sao Paulo who then loaned me out to Bohemian F.C in the Irish league! That's scary similar.
I played Luis Gil on Player Career Mode. I was a starter. However when I played RSL in Manager Career Mode, I got an offer for $5 Million from Liverpool for Gil and I took it. I think I might be breaking the MLS salary cap restrictions with RSL now.
You're probably accidentally playing in "LA Galaxy mode" which disables all the salary cap restrictions in the game. I think you can toggle that mode on and off from the main screen.
So far I have made it 3 seasons with Javi still around, but of course I sent Olave and Espindola to NY and WJ to Portland. I sent them as straight trades for odd players that the AI had picked up on those teams that were roughly what those three were worth. I also traded Braun and Paulo.
Muchas Gracias. My reserves keep asking for more time. They're not even the fringe players, it's like, my 3rd keeper and 5th CB.
I started a other manager mode w/ Toronto. First thing I did is buy a new defense and stole Kyle Beckerman from RSL for Eric Avila .
Can I add Football Manager 2013 to this thread or will that get too confusing? Because I just won the freaking Champions League with RSL.
I don't mind. Is FM fun? I love being able to wheel and deal, but never actually playing seemed boring.
My wife gave me FIFA 13 for PS3 this morning. The skills challenges are pretty cool. Just completed the PK's challenge. If anyone wants to play online, my gamer tag is SenordrummeR2.
It's a blast! Crazy addictive though. I managed to beat Seattle in the quarters, overturning a 2-0 aggregate score and winning on penalties. Then I beat Monterrey in the semis 2-1 on aggregate by defeating them away, then I beat Tigres 2-1 aggregate in the final, also winning away. Here was my lineup - Omar was an awesome steal, got him in a trade with LA for Beltran. Braun actually scored the winning goal in the final, if you can believe that. I also have Juan Agudelo to bring off the bench as a super sub.
HA, that is such a ridiculous lineup. How did you land Lichaj at left back? Plus Paulo on the right wing? Jewsbury is crap, that guy has really gone down hill quick. Who is the Freeman at right back?
I got Lichaj for practically nothing from Aston Villa as he was transfer-listed. Paulo Jr is listed in the game as being a natural right mid and plays really well there. Jewsbury isn't great, but I had to get rid of Kyle to fit under the cap. Hunter Freeman is my right back who has played for the Crapids and just got picked up by the Revs. The funny thing about Football Manager is that the player ratings aren't always accurate, especially with smaller teams like RSL. One example - Braun scored 17 goals in league play alone. Plus another 5 in Open Cup and CCL. Not sure that's ever going to happen in real life...
It's so incredibly detailed it's insane. As far as I know it knows every major league's rules and caps and whatnot. You go through every bit of coaching, picking up coaching staff, setting up formations and training in them so the team understands them. There's press conferences, pre-game and halftime pep talks, post game stuff. You do virtually everything but play the game. During the game there's different ways to have it presented and different game speed. You can adjust tactics or formation on the fly if needed. I love playing FIFA, but honestly I've probably had more hours sucked into FM. It's incredibly fun building a team and working out tactics that work best for the team and trying to lead them to greatness.
In fact, FM13 is currently one of the Steam deals for 4 more hours at 50% off. Can snag it for $20 if you hurry. http://store.steampowered.com/app/207890/
Changes to my RSL squad so far. Traded Grabs and some cash for Najar Straight swap of Espindola for Agudelo I got a good offer for Morales from Real Sociedad, but I got too greedy and it fell through. Things I'm looking for in the next transfer window. New GK Rimando is getting older,so is Reynish and Fernandez still needs to develop. A young CDM How are your teams?
Sucks playing with the current roster. With only 1 forward on the team, Gil got the start up top. Scored, but realization that RSL needs some more firepower.
This! Its the #1 massive suck thing for FIFA 13. My boy and I started a new team today, swapping the Orlando Pirates in for Dallas (we are from Orlando FYI). Then before I could sell the all South African team, I realized I had to wait until July to make any changes. Now we have Rimando as GK. One major change I made to my RSL FIFA 13 roster was replace Morales in my starting 11 with Darlington Nagbe. Its been working pretty well so far.
Question: What game mode am I looking for? I want to play RSL, period. I started a "career" game with Gil. Pro is still pretty easy and we've won almost every game by wide margins. Then Morales gets traded to Spain, Beckerman to Mexico and Espindola to England and Gil is now the CAM and I'm bummed. I liked playing with "the guys". So what game mode should I try. I am having a hard time finding something suiting what i'd like to do, which is build the franchise, not a player or manager. Also, it doesn't seem like the width really works. The breakaway up the middle is still king. Maybe at the next difficulty level up (expert or whatever?)
