Btw, the odds of the Champions League draw proper being the same as the rehearsal draw was 5000/1 - and surely enough, it was exactly the same.

Shaktar/Dortmund & Utd/Mad are the tastiest draws. Bayern should dispatch Ars with some ease.

I'd like to officially register a place on the Dortmund CL bandwagon. That side winning or even getting close to the final would be one of the better stories in recent seasons.

Too many big-name sides against each other in the Ro16. Some tasty ties now may leave less desirable matchups in the latter rounds.

    Dortmund will cream Shahktar.

Could very well be "sayanara" to the EPL teams if Jose can rev up his troops for this.

Lukaku had a great header to score the winner late against Norwich today. It was very reminiscent of a certain departed Ivorian. It's great to see him thrive like this, given the opportunity.

    Very encouraging.

Other than set pieces have we delivered any balls into the danger zone aerially on a semi-consistent basis? Strikes me that at this stage of his career a balls-to-feet offence isn't playing to his strengths and that he's probably in the right place at the moment whilst he develops some other attributes.

I do not know what makes me feel worse

the fact that Stewart Downing got his first Premier League assist and goal today vs Fulham- the same team we could not do shit against and were very tough to score on according to the FSW

or that we went from 3rd to 7th after the fixtures today

The Barry goal was the worst thing about today by a country mile.

Also, I'll look at the table once we have played the same number of games, no need to be depressed for Christmas :)

the Carlton Cole sending off today was a sham as well

I hate to adopt the "big club" get all the calls mentality but Citeh really are/have been benefiting from some shocking decisions for far too long now

We cross the ball a lot because teams teams are content to pack the middle and stifle our creative attackers. And we play a fair number of direct balls to the CF because our lack of deep-seated midfielders. No one notices because there's never anyone in there to win them.

What percentage of Torres's Chelsea goals are from headers? Definitely a fair few since he's joined us. IMO, our center forward being another ball-player is non-essential. We desperately need a spearhead and a finisher. I could not be more in favor of bringing back Lukaku. It's not like West Brom are starting him every game anyway.

In summary QPR are a joke.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20828024

Note he particularly picks out Bosingwa who is staggeringly on 65k a week!!! That's more than Mata reportedly makes FWIW.

NB: I have no way of confirming the chelsea salaries, but Bosingwa is still waaaay overpaid.

also very shrewd of 'Arry to dump more blame on the former regime to further distance himself from the blame of QPHa going down

Fergie says that RvP "could have been killed" by Routledge's cheap shot today

it was a stupid kick out, but really Fergie? could have been killed??

    I think it was Williams

but it is typical bacon face trying to curry favour when it comes to the refs

it was malcious from Williams but I thought the ref did a sensible job in how he responded to the incident

Had it been a role reversal, I guarantee Fergie claims this as an accident and that he never meant to hit the player. Let's face it, when it comes to admitted pre-mediation, he defended his player.
