I honestly do not understand what you are trying to say. We also didn't have Cristiano Ronaldo on the field, and the team still played well. Are you trying to say that RSL doesn't play well when we have Saborio playing? Either I'm missing the sarcasm here, or this is really poor logic.
There's plenty of players that can miss easy shots in big games. We'll be fine. There's really nothing that Espindola brought that isn't irreplaceable. He often went large stretches without scoring at all. It's not like he was lighting up the league with 15+ goals a season. He's a good player, and one I loved to watch, but he's not irreplaceable.
Not selling Espindola was not possible. Someone had to go and its a obvious place we needed a change.
Who is gonna attack down the wings now?? I think RSL really screwed themselves. Hopefully I'm wrong because I am a big fan of RSL.
We'll find out. We only have 1 forward on the team right now. Maybe the time to freak out is March when RSL hasn't signed another forward.
IBIK that was supposed to be funny, we were talking about Messi, lighten up, and besides I like the LA model right now where 3 DP's just won back to back cups, I Know, I know we are not L.A. but I do think its going to be critical for this team to sign a DP caliper striker for next year, sorry you disagree.
Trust me I'd love a DP - I'd have something to talk about all year. But for the sake of next season I'd rather have two Espindola-level strikers than one DP-level striker. I think the chances of finding a good one in that scenario are...well, about twice as good.
Notice that guy wearing #10? Notice how he was faster than their entire back line? Yeah, that was one of the reasons we were so good. Sabo was on the bench because he had just been acquired on the team. He took over not long after that, IIRC.
And in his 1988 minutes played, he had 12 goals, 4 assists (.54 goals per game) and led the team in scoring ever since he's been with us. As far as scoring that year went it was: 1. Saborio 12 2. Morales 7 3. Espindola 6 4. Findley 5 5. Grabavoy 3 There were things I liked with some of our past forwards: Findley, Yura, Espy. But one thing none of them could ever say they were consistent with their time with us. Sabo has been the one guy we can generally count on to get it done.
back then we didn't need target forward to be able to break down defenses. That's what I was trying to say. But.yeah. It helped we had a fast(er) forward. Espindola was supposed to be our speed, but we saw that didn't work out this year. Paulo didn't work either. I'm curious as to what type of strikers we'll be bringing in. crossing my fingers for a speedy forward.
Um, not to be an ass, but we don't attack down the wings One of the things that Espy did, that actually hurt our squad, was try to play on the wing. That put Sabo in the 18, by himself, with 3 defenders surrounding him. Espy wanted the ball and the only place he could get it, turn without much pressure, and run at a guy was on the wing. While it worked on the occasion, it actually hurt our team in the grand scheme of things. We needed him closer to the goal. We needed him to be in the box to distract the pressure Sabo constantly got. Remember when we beat LA 2-1 at their place last season? Espy had 2 goals. He didn't get them by going wide, he got them by sticking in the middle and working off of Sabo. That's what we needed more of. So your complaint of "but who will work the wings now?" shouldn't fall on the forward. That's where our outside backs and midfield should be
Not really sure how to interpret the long wait. On the one hand, it could mean that he is seriously considering staying. If he wanted the money from the Mexican club (and to play), the sooner he jumped more likely the better. On the other hand, it could mean he is negotiating with them (Mexican club) more and doesn't really have intentions to stay or he would have turned them down already. The sooner he jumped, if he jumped, would be better you would think. That would give him more time to find a place, settle in with the team, and get up to speed with a team that is essentially on a mid-season rest.
A lot of people (including Denz today) are thinking that the longer we go without hearing from Javi, the lower the chance that he will be coming back. I disagree. The longer Javi goes without a decision from a Mexican team, the less the chance that one of them will have a spot for him. According to Garth, Mexican teams essentially have their rosters figured out by Christmas. Javi may just be waiting to see if there's an opening in Mexico, and every day that passes there is less likely to be one.
I would think the FO has always been looking at a plan B. You can't just assume Javi will be here and plan accordingly. I'm sure they've already been looking at options should he decide to go elsewhere.
I think your last paragraph sums up one of the biggest problems this season, and is why we sold Will and Espy.
Appealing the Utah Supreme Court? To what court? The federal courts probably have no jurisdiction, so this is done once decided by the Utah Supreme Court.
Yeah, but none of the cases have had any merit. If they can't appeal, then they'll set up a lawsuit to stop the park for another reason.
Even in FIFA 13 I place multiple offers out there for new players. Since thats a video game, I am guessing a actual FO is much more advanced and thoughtful.
