Date: 16.12.2012 (19:30 Yokohama) TV Coverage / Convert Time Zone In the end it is the final everyone expected. Chelsea are looking to write more history in 2012 while Corinthians would like to add a second Club World Cup to its honours. A Timão win would also level the all-time record between Europe and South America at 26 each.
Until now none brasilian score a goal in this edition of the CWC, even when they are 26 in total, 20 in corintias, 4 in chelsea, 2 in the korean team. Also none british/english score a goal, but they are few, just 7 all in chelsea.
It's going to be a home game for Corinthians... I got mixed feeling being from Brazil.. i want our home team to win.. but with that team being corinthians.. I want them to lose.
Well ... we got what we wanted.. the final.. since our coach read our mind.. I see Corinthians winning 2-0.. Emerson and Guerrero.. Chelsea is great attack but defending they will suffer
i like chelsea because of david luiz, oscar, mata, ramires, they have a good core of young players but i also want comebol to get one back they've been losing this tournament too much lately and europeans think is easy for them []__[]
I for one would welcome a Corinthians loss. Really disliked their anti-football against Al Ahly. But more importantly, I don't like how they got their first CWC title. Brazil 2000 - before the merger with the Toyota Cup - was an ill-conceived tournament with poor host selection (too strong for a small tournament), poor team selection (Vasco over Palmeiras) and poor timing/format (the whole ManU/FA Cup story). One Libertadores victory should yield one CWC title - at best. Besides, a Chelsea victory would probably seal the all-time record for UEFA in the foreseeable future. I've said it before but I believe this year to be CONMEBOL's "last stand". If you can't beat a Chelsea in crisis I could easily see a decade or more without a South American victory. The next two editions are in Morocco (Europe's doorsteps) and that won't make things any easier. No pressure.
Am I right in thinking there's over 20,000 Corinthians fans in Japan? It'll feel like the home match for the Brazillian side. It's going to be tougher than Monterey for Chelsea, but Benitez will want to win this one and I think Chelsea will edge it. Professional display, disciplined, perhaps 1-0 Chelsea.
I guess the Brazilians really love to travel to this tournament... I remember it was a similar thing in Abu Dhabi a couple of years ago... I think there were more Internacional fans at the final who stayed behind after the third place match that either Inter or Mazembe....
Brazilians right now have money, they've had money for the past 5 years... and one thing they are good at is wasting it. Best tourists you can ask for.. is a brazilian tourist
12,000 if I remember correctly. Of course the loss to TP Mazembe in the semis really knocked the wind out of them. To date it is still the only flat-out loss by a UEFA/CONMEBOL club to one of the challengers: Speaking of that 2010 semifinal, the one player who probably wants to win the 2012 final the most is Chelsea's Oscar. He was with SC Internacional that year.
For any fan of any other team in Sao Paulo, it's a no-brainer ... Chelsea all the way !! Who cares about European clubs vs SA clubs discussion ? In the big scheme of things it's just a one-off game in a very short "tournament". It's a minuscule annoyance compared to having to endure Corinthians fans claim the are champions of the world. We can always prove we are best at the NT level in a WC. Maybe I'd have a little sympathy for Corinthians if they actually played attractively. So not only I want Chelsea to win, I'd love to see Corinthians get hammered !! Sorry Corinthianos, nothing personal ...
Corinthians is almost EVERYTHING that is evil in Brazilian soccer...well besides CBF. This is a club that literally stole the 2005 Brazilian Championship and it's ex-President admits it on a widely known phone recording with anoter Corinthian executive at the time. This is when Corinthians got involved with the Russian Mob guys like Irania Kia Joorabchian which ruled Corinthians in 2005 and later had to leave Brazil or be arrested. This was when Tevez a KIA guy was playing at Corinthians. They paid off people that had power to undo 11 games in the 2005 Championship do to supposed Ref buying. This way 2 Corinthians losses were canceled an they were allowed to play the games again...which they won 4 points back. Later in the toruney the team that was the leader INTER before the 11 canceled games has a direct do or die game against Corinthians and all of Brazil saw one of the most shameful referee decisions ever. On a clear PK where Corinthians goalie slide feet first up in the air the ref not only didnt call the PK but gave the Inter player a red card for "simulation". That was the last game that ref ever called. Corinthans "won" the championship by 1 point...remeber they were allowed to replay 2 loses and made back 4 points. Enough to get them over the top. There plenty more dirt with Corinthians that was only in 2005. In 2006 they paid the price for their crimes and on the field were relegated to the 2nd division. I hope Chelsea kicks their butt. And Remember last South American world Champs: SC INTERNACIONAL. Beating Barcelona in 2006. PS: I went to both WClub Cups Inter played at. In 2006 in Japan there was about 3000 Inter fans...in 2010 in Abu Dhabi about 10,000 Inter fans were there (to see that disaster!).
You sound retarded when you say Corinthians paid off people for that. Well is there a proof of such a thing? If not just stsy on topic and put your jealousy aside.
lol, well Chelsea aren't exactly a club owned by saints either so it looks like this is a match made in heaven... I'm still sicking by my prediction... CFC to win this one!
I'm rooting for the American team, Corinthians. Antifootball matches aren't bad, they're usually full of tension, where something eventually has to give.
JP Dellacamera on FoxSoccer: "...Paolo Guerrero, who did well with them in the Copa Libertadores..." Uhh, Guerrero wasn't with Corinthians yet.
Hahha you need more proof than the Corithians President admiting in a phone conversation that 2005 was robbed??? Everyone in Brazil knows it. Heres that audio. Note the last words...GANHAMOS ROUBADO...we won it stolen.
Cássio with yet another miraculous save. He is looking like the veteran-like newbie who was clutch for Corinthians in the final stretch of the Libertadores.
