Last nights Copa Sudamericana final in the Morumbi showed yet again that opposing teams Argentina in particular will face violence on a totally unaceptable level.Giants Sao Paolo were leading little Tigre 2-0 at half time. But goalkeeper Albil had a gun put in his chest ny some of the home teams security and several Argentine players were beaten up outside their dressing rooms by THE BRASILIAN POLICE. Now everybody wants to see fanatical crowds but this carry on is endemic in Brasil where the away team invariably gets no security from the Brasilian police
Things like that may or may not happen, but for the FIFA World Cup, they make sure to not let it get that far. 2010 World Cup is a perfect example.
But that must be the case for everybody. It has been shown to often in Brasil that Argentina teamd do not get that.
from what i've heard and read the tigres players were the guilty parties and instigators that caused all the chaos by going after lucas after the first half ended and then tried to enter sao paulo's dressing room through a door from their own dressing room hopefully comebol will investigate and fine and suspend the guilty parties.. whoever it was brasil is safe enough they just had a world cup in south africa with no incidents.... they are having one in Qatar and there is no place more unsafe than that []__[]
[quote="puertorricane, brasil is safe enough they just had a world cup in south africa with no incidents.... they are having one in Qatar and there is no place more unsafe than that No one is saying Brasil isnt safer than South Africa or Quatar for visiting fans but these are nor real futbol countries with a chance of winning.Whatever about Tigres play on the field do you think its right A PLAYER HAD A GUN PUT TO HIS CHEST IN BRASILS SECOND BIGGEST STADIUM. Or maybe you would be like some of the Brasuca supporters and want MESSI shot. []__[][/quote]
lol are you serious? I have lived in Qatar for the last 4 years, and have visited both South Africa and Brazil during that time and can safely say that last comment is utter nonsense... Qatar's probably the safest of the three - the biggest dangers are reckless driving and the heat, which would actually be a genuine danger if held in the summer. Brazil is actually nowhere near as dangerous as people seem to make it out as. As long as you don't do anything really stupid like walk around favellas like Rocinha in the middle of the night, most tourists come and go without seeing any trouble. The most dangerous of the 3 would be by far South Africa. We were staying in a pretty safe part of town in Cape Town, and even there were told by the hostel to always take a taxi at night, even if it was just to go a couple of blocks away. Turned out to be right, as a couple of backpackers who defied that advice got mugged just a couple of steps away from where we were staying.... but the world cup seemed to work fine there, so I have no doubt a world cup in Brazil will be safe...
Coincidence or not, every time there are problems in Conmebol tournaments whether in Brasil, Paraguay, Chile, Peru, Boliva, etc etc etc it always involves an Argentine team...... Makes you wonder who the problem really is huh?
neither do mexican teams. Inter fans ran into the pitch to brawl with Guadalajara players at the end of the 2nd leg of the 2010 Libertadores final
Uruguayan players and supporters have suffered from the Brasilian brutality on numerous occasions including Libertadores finals. As recently have Mexican clubs.Sao Paolo is an incredibly violent city whose police force are busy slaughtering their own all thru 2012.No.Argentines involved in any of these!!! Why do u deny reality thru stupid nationalistic tinted glasses?
I think people have to take into consideration many factors. Club teams seem to have more passionate fanatical hooligans. Brazil and Argentina fans that go to World Cups usually are not as fanatical and are of a higher class status. Also Security is beefed up more during World Cup events.
what? blasfemy! brazilians would not do that! they're zamba loving people! jogo bonito! zamba! zamba! zamba! bam bam bam boom boom boom la la la la they're on the beach all day! peace and love! boom boom boom bam bam bam playing soccer! smile! smile! drums everywhere! tropical paradise! zamba zamba zamba jogo bonito jogo bonito come on people! this is the land of milk and honey! big breasted women! look overhere! look overhere! brawls? threats? thugs? what? never mind that look over here! look! big breasts! bikinis! coconuts! jogo bonito! copacabana! look! lambada!
the biggest danger in Qatar is public drinking... lol that alone makes it the worst world cup host country ever.... and the most dangerously for fans who could end up in the Qatar court system facing serious charges or worst in jail for a long time []__[]
But one thing that wont happen in Qatar is the abuse of the fans and worse players of their rivals.Sao Paolo in particular is an unbelievably violent city.In one weekend in November there were 112 murders thats four times the massacre that occured in the US. The Brasilians need to get their house in in order. If Conmebol wasnt such a corrupt outfit Sao Paoki would be banned from international competition and the Morumbi closed down.
fans wont get abused? lolol try and get rowdy in Qatar and see what happens to you over there. If you think Qatar is safe for fans you are really crazy. Is one of the worst place to have a world cup. And the team that needs to be sanctioned is tigre for the way its players behaved. They were the one that instigated everything and is their fault for how the things went at halftime. If teams go to the world cup in brasil thinking they can attack opposing players and assault security guards and cops well they will learn quickly they cant do any of that. If teams go to brasil and behave and just play the games they will be ok. As for the fans in brasil just avoid dangerous areas, just like every other country in the world there are areas you cant venture to if you want to stay safe. []__[]
So the Tigre players like the River and Peñarol players before them instigated their bus being attacked on the way to game and have all the windows smashed.Tell us how did they do that?
Really? How about that incident With CHIVAS of Mexico in the Final of the Copa Libertadores? Makes you wonder who the problem really is huh? Oh Wait.. Was the Ref Argentine?
The Uruguyans seem to get into a a lot of scuffles too. Also one of the craziest on field Brawls was when Sao Caetano played against America of Mexico. So it is not just the Argentine clubs that seem to get into trouble.
Don't waste your energy trying to enlighten Puertoriccan. Like most Americans, he doesn't even own a passport. Probably never left the island of Puerto Rico.
Funnily enough every incident mentioned on this thread, and there are many, had one country in common. It was one of the two biggest countries in South america but it doesnt begin with A now who might that be?
