I mean seriously...this is "news"??? http://www.ibtimes.com/gangnam-vile-obamas-handshake-psy-draws-fierce-media-reaction-931034
The right-wing media pretty much have decided to be on 24/7 outrage alert. They're outraged about everything, all the time. What's great is now they've mastered the art of being outraged about perceived outrage by the left. Those stupid liberals are SO PC about everything! How do we know? Because they're always picking on us poor Christians! They get to have their cake and eat it too. Then they blame Obama for taking their cake.
I'm kinda of surprised that the uproar was as muted as it seems to be. I've not heard anything of it until now. Of course I probably watch the wrong tv news.
best part? This thread will last longer than Psy's career in the US. Should be over just after New Year. If we survive the Mayans, that is.
Okay, head-in-the-pop-culture-sand alert. Who is Psy? How did he get famous? Has he actually done anything, or is he a youtube phenomenon?
Nope. But I know all I need to know now. Thanks gents. Though I wish I could neg-rep Roel for planting that ear worm in my head.
I'm proud to say that I have not seen a full clip of Psy (just clips on TV news). Definition of a one hit wonder.
I saw a clip from some awards show with the gangnam guy and some American rapper dude and it was pretty cool. If you like that kind of stuff, which I don't usually. I didn't know about this Psy person's supposedly despicable song lyrics until a couple of days ago. I've looked and looked but I have no fucks to give about the stupid song or this stupid mini-scandal.
Who will be the 1st winger to remind Gangum that our brave men & women protect his hip-hoppity ass over thar in Korea? Chuck Norris or Ted Nugent?
I kinda like Psy actually..........the rest of his album anyway. But yea, I can't see him lasting long. He is important as I (believe) the first #1 artist not from the US/Europe no? At least from Asia
I just don't understand the appeal. The song isn't grating or anything, but why a billion people would watch it on youtube is beyond me. It's mildly amusing, but that's about all as far as I can tell.
Apparently four people who speak Korean and English have been asked to translate the lyrics he *said* not *wrote* and there are four versions It's all over "patriot" facebook (I.E, a certain angry white people demographic is all up in arms about it) Apparently every Korean person is forever indebted to be deferential to America. Sorta like how Americans act about France.
Hang on a second... No, no. You're getting it wrong. You're supposed to respond: "No, I don't jest, and stop calling me Shirley." Now that we have that taken care of, back to your regularly scheduled thread.
It made MC Hammer relevant for 30 seconds once again. He might get another 'sell gold' commercial out of it.
