HybridTouch for me is top of the list because it is the best synthetic I have had on my foot, to date. To me it breaks in faster than KangaLite - or anything else. It feels as close to leather as anything I have tried from the inside of the boot out - meaning having my foot in the shoe and how to how it reacts to movements, touches and having a sock as a barrier between it. I don't feel the control zones negate the feel for the ball any more than previous elements did on a leather Predator. If anything these zones feel more "connected" to the boot and foot because they are bonded to the material as oppose to being in inlay that is placed into the upper like previous leather Predators.

I don't like the feel of KangaLite 2.0 all that much, it is almost too thin and it lacks the tensile strength of a truly leather like synthetic or good leather - which is why there are so many issues with splitting on the new CTR and also tearing away from the upper. The latter has a bit to do with the glue that is used being crappy, but the upper doesn't hold the foot in check very well and due to the lack of tensile strength the foot loads too much force side to side on an already corrupted glue job. This is a recipe for disaster and sudden splitting of the boot.

I thought KangaLite 1.5 (CTR II) was better overall, but it took a while to break in and feel like it was "your boot". The first CTR and the Legend III Elite upper was too thick, IMO and the CTR II hit a nice balance in my eyes. The new stuff is just too weak to be useful in the long term. I am sure it can be fixed when KangaLite 3.o comes out, if Nike is so inclined.

I am assuming the "egotistical" comment was directed at me, because the latter portion was in direct reference to me, by name. While I am admittedly judgmental and I do have a load of confidence, I don't feel it is unwarranted on this topic and I would venture to say most of the people on here with any experience would feel the same way. People may not like what I say at times -clearly you do not in many cases - but it is pretty hard to argue against a lot of what I say when I am directing criticism at companies and blogs that pretend to be objective sources of information, while they shill for new products and provide inane and awful reviews - I realize criticizing other blogs might be rich considering my blog is a lesson in stop/start blogging management due to nothing more than a lack of time to devote on my part and the unwillingness to promote products so I can pay someone else to manage it with "dirty" money. But, pretty much everyone with comment said my blog was easily the best true review source on the Internet and I take pride in the fact that nothing I published was influenced by anything by sound testing - there was no hyperbole, false predictions on supposed durability, or claims of enhanced performance, unlike some places that review.

I have also made a specific effort not to be as harshly critical of people's opinions or come off as egotistical/condescending in most cases - thanks to a chat with b0sk1 -but at times it is hard to check myself. I created this forum in 2002-2003 and I have been here all the way through barring a slight hiatus when my father was first diagnosed with ALS. When I see dreck, I call it dreck and at times that might make me sound like I am acting superior, but I won't say sorry for that.

Per the thesis comment, I explain positions/arguments in depth. It is not my fault the world has been reduced to to Tweets when it comes to expressing opinions. At the risk of going against what I said about being condescending, heed this advice: Develop an attention span that is longer than the ability to read 140-160 characters, then shape a point of view; this will set you apart in a world that is filling up with vapid morons that can't think to turn left without a Facebook notification saying it is ok. Things worth talking about, are worth talking about at length, when appropriate; critical input is one of those things no matter the subject.

Finally to end this thesis - you may not realize this - I am one of your only defenders on this board. I have stuck up for you when many people have requested that you be banned for various offenses to their existence on here. If you dislike me or my opinions that is fine, but if you are wishing to attempt to knock me off my perch by consistently attempting to discredit me, my doctor, my workout routines, or anything else that comes up....I am going to warn you now, I am pure alpha and I will check you hard and fast if you wish to keep on the route you have been taking with me for the past few months.

Your definition of "quality" is not correct: http://encyclopedia2.thefreedictionary.com/Product+quality

You will notice the "reliability" factor being a leading measure of "product quality" and the only thing that we can often rely on with may of today's boots is the reliability of product failure before an appropriate window of use. Sadly consumer expectations have dropped off so reliability expectation has become deranged; see the example you provided of your mates.

Without getting into rant mode, people like you and your mates are the exact reason the world is where it is. Everything is viewed as immediately disposable and it's replacement instantly accessible. For those that don't dispose of failing products right away, they often persist with using them because they are either apathetic - which is just as bad as the former - or they are ignorant -which is just plain sad.

Also, your credibility as a product reviewer has just taken a massive nosedive in my eyes. You can't be considered serious or knowledgable about something if you admit that you could care less about reliability, build quality, or lifespan. You have just become totally transparent, in a bad way.

When a shoe goes to "Quality Control" for checks, they are not looking at fit or performance for Jon - that is determined by the shoes last vs. your foot and your own tactile response to the shoe on your foot - they are looking for product flaws that will effect reliability to the masses. That is "quality control", product performance testing in the development stage is where you measure the things you seem to confuse with "quality".

Boot selection is not going down, there are more shoes in production than ever before. Companies have three to five silos in constant production these days, with anywhere between one to five options in a tier of the silo and one to five tiers of the said silo. That means for example at any given time there can be 30-40 options available in one silo based on colorways, outsole, tiers of the range, and so on - not including special edition models and limited release colorways. Top this with colorway updates that come almost bi-monthly as oppose to quarterly and one silo could produce over 100+ options in a calendar year; if the boot actually lasts a calendar year before it is replaced with the next "greatest boot ever created".

What you are seeing is the overlap of product features. Before there were hard lines, only "speed" boots were "ultra-light" - on retail models anyway - and only "power/control" boots had vamps. Now pretty much everything is ultra-light, and lots of shoes have elements that assist with power or control - in theory anyway.

Visually the black/charcoal/orange-red look awesome. They remind me of the Vapor IV in a similar color which were awesome looking. Obviously the jury is out on the upper, but it looks very Vapor I-II to me from a material standpoint, dimple texture pressing aside...that isn't a bad thing other than it had a propensity to stink like cat urine after moderate use. It will be funny - not haha, but ironic - if they bring that material back and call it NikeSkin again after all these other "innovations".

I find the nine stud outsole to be highly suspect when it comes to foot to ground feel for a firm ground shoe, based on the similar layout of the current Vapor. I do like the shift to conical-ish stud options where there is rotational force generated from the foot.

I hope they do offer the AG outsole that we saw on the whiteout pics here a while back and those blades on the SG look ripe for a sander or oscillating saw if anyone wants to bag blades and just go with a true six stud SG.

Subjectivity - obviously - on my part but, unless you have access to a magic material that no one else uses I don't think there is more on the current market in regular production that is a better option when all factors are bought into account.

Could it be better? Yes. Is there something better out right now? I personally don't think so. Puma was close with the V1.11 upper, but that got put on the shelf.

The Phantoms look nice. But I am always a little leary of boots that have lacing patterns like that. I have a low volume foot and they don't always fit well unless they just run narrow.

I have the same problem as you. I always have to tighten my shoelaces almost to where the two edges of the shoe lase gap(?) touch. However, I tested these and they fit absolutely perfect. They were light, thin, and flexible. Very comfortable shoes. All in all, I think they were the best fitting boots I have worn to date.

When Adidas decided to make a plastic that would be like leather they took the worst of both worlds and mixed it together. The only thing that might be good with Hybridtouch is the durability. I would say that Hybridtouch is the worst synthetic out there, it even stinks compared to the synthetic of Predito. Of course this is just my opinion.

For all those wondering what that means ^^ it roughly translates to "go ******** yourself." I kid, I kid.
In all seriousness. I really enjoy the synthetic on my LZ's. I like it a lot more than the adizero's and vapor synthetic.

Just something I've found; the evoSPEED 3 upper feels a lot like the v1.11 synthetic - I know you've got a good relationship with some retailers, next time you're in a store you should check it out.

Those 2013 black and white vapor IX's are very sleek and dare I say, sexy.
as for the Phantoms...I like the colourways and combos, but do not enjoy the black portion around the laces. I think the design is rather poor there.

soccer.com says that it is the exact same upper material on the evospeed 3s as the v1.11s.

Has anyone seen these boots before?
I have a pair of Total 90 Zoom Air, but these are "Air Ninety".
I can't find any info on them online using the code or the name.

ps. These are not the original studs, I bought them without any studs.
