Anyone else think if we win the La Liga, Copa del rey and champions league this year that Jose and Ronaldo might leave in June?

    Only by "mutual consent". ;)

Well I think Jose may well leave in June in any event, but he won't be shown the door if he gets CL or Liga this season. If we get both of those he just might be shown the door. More likely though he leaves by mutual consent, and then yes, he'll try to take players with him. CR7 could be one of them but actually where ever Jose goes will have a rich owner who will actually pay an arm and a leg to Real for certain Real players (meaning Real has more money to buy still more galaticos - so Neymar's price may be going up and up and up).

Since when does what goes on LPB matter to anyone? Personally I don't care who they have because if we are better, we will beat them and be crowned the champions. If not, then we won't be. And we're talking about something that gets rumours and attention every single day on, no one really knows these things apart from the people in the club involved.

Matters a lot to anyone interested in Barca.

LPB coach change, transfer of their best player etc. Bigger news for LPB fans than us, but news to us as well imo. If, say, Iniesta and Xavi would leave, it would matter to LPB fans.

(not saying I don't get the ideology of "they can do whatever they want, it's whatever to us who matter our own business and beat them on the pitch" but it's just that obviously it does matter what they do)

    Touche. :p

Nice to see them lose again though, that's one thing I like hearing about when it comes to LPB news. Good work Celta.

Huge away goal, so not an important loss. That will probably be enough for Madrid to survive, but Valencia awaits in the next round.

Well, it's not like LPB had Pepe, Carvalho, Xabi Alonso, Essien, Kaká, Modric, De María, Özil, Benzema, or Ronaldo out there.

    Oh, wait...

Athletic Bilbao knocked out by Segunda B Eibar on away goals.
Game had to be rescheduled for today due to Athletic's Europa League match in Israel having to be rearranged a few weeks ago. Threw everything into a mess so now Octavos 1st leg Eibar v Malaga will be the lone Copa tie played on Wednesday 19 December and the entire second leg set of fixtures will be played midweek 8-10 January.

Eibar/Malaga to play Barca/Cordoba in the quarterfinals.

This story is somewhat similar to me wearing a Pacquiao shirt while watching the fight down in Tijuana last Saturday except for the part about being offered coffee, a meal, or being applauded.

And Malaga host Barca in the league on 12/13 January. Hopefully Eibar can pull off one more upset so Barca can avoid 3 matches in two week span against Malaga.

Great story. Sampdoria's fans are beyond class.
And to think I was proud of myself merely for giving some Benfica fans on the street tips on how to get to Camp Nou last week. :D

The goal that Messi scored recently which Marca ruled as an own-goal now looks like an even more biased decision. Torres was credited with a goal in the Club World Cup this morning on a similar play. Except his shot was heading about five feet wide, not 5 inches, before the defender deflected it towards goal.

Credited by Marca ? Yeah that's pretty damn biased if so. For me both were own goals.

I don't think there's any doubt that MARCA are biased bastards when it comes to the awarding of their Pichichi award.
But in the case of Torres in Japan, I don't think MARCA did any live text commentary of the match and are basing their match report on the stats provided by FIFA, who credited Torres with the goal. So I really don't place much blame on them in this instance.
I'd be very curious to see how they would rule a Liga goal/own goal if Falcao was involved in such a play.

Yeah, didn't mean to imply that Marca credited Torres with the goal. Just pointing-out that Marca counted something as an own goal when everyone else not only counted that as a Messi goal but also would go one step further and call this (ie a shot initially heading 5 feet wide) a Torres goal.

I have to say, Pepe has a 6th sense about this stuff. Knows exactly where the guy (and his balls) is without even looking !!

DO they have youtube compilations for Pepe yet like they do for Messi? We should try picking the best song for that as well.

    Here's my opening bid:
