Dempsey in the starting lineup, Friedal on bench:
Starting lineup:Lloris, Walker, Gallas, Caulker, Vertonghen, Lennon, Sandro, Dembele, Dempsey, Adebayor and Defoe
Dempsey needs to shine again. Who will get replaced when Bale returns ?

Howard starts, too, as you might have expected.
Everton XI: Howard, Coleman, Baines, Jagielka, Distin, Osman, Pienaar, Gibson, Fellaini, Mirallas, Jelavic

Crap; I keep taking Howard for granted. Guess his name should have been in the thread title as well....

'8 Everton break is single handily thwarted by a diving Lloris!

Defoe boogers up a great move followed by an excellent play by Lloris coming waaay out to the top of the 18 for a key stop

13' Everton getting stuck in as usual. Howard makes a terrible pass to Osman and the resulting pass its intercepted by Dempsey. Gibson fouls Dempsey near the edge of the eighteen. Dempsey takes the FK which is on target, but not troubling Howard.

I don't understand going for goal on that fk. Why aren't they putting that on a head at the far post? Tottenham needs some set piece help.

I do not remember an Everton squad this dangerous in attack for quite a awhile.

18' Dempsey pulls back a pass to Defoe. Defoe has a hard tim controlling and his shot is blocked.

Gallas with a high line isn't working. Gallas with a deep line isn't working. Gallas.....isn't working.

To his credit he did have a key scooping clearance five minutes ago, but he looks slow at times

23' Dempsey gets caught out of position and Coleman takes the space. Dempsey is not fast enough to recover and Coleman fires a rocket that is wide right. Dangerous moment there...

After he was 2 steps behind holding his arm up for the offside.

Pienaar looks so odd with the short hair.

28' Dempsey learns from his scary moment and has the flank covered this time. Blocks a Coleman cross and concedes a corner.

Tottenham is going to be lucky to get a point out of this I think. Everton has been the much more dangerous side.

34' Dumb yellow card by Defoe, he was purposely inching forward in the wall during a FK. Right in front of the official. Nothing comes from the free kick.

35' Vertonghen gives Coleman a full arm to the face and receives a yellow card. Some bickering over a duel in midfield between Dembele and Fellaini.

Interesting scene there with Dempsey making sure Dembele didn't go too far with the ref.

Adebayor is really struggling to hold the ball up.

43' Dempsey uses his upper right part of the chest and it looks like a hand ball. Crowd goes insane. Not a hand ball though.

I thought Adebayor was the weakest link. His passing is bad, hold up play poor.
