Especially since SKC had two second-round draft picks, both past #30; in fact, back-to-back (#32 and #33). Now they just have one again.
It's a known-for-a-unknown deal. We get a known value in Gardner and they get an unknown in a draft pick. What that tells you is that we had a particular need (depth) and they no longer had a need for him. If they didn't need him anymore then getting #32 is better than nothing... but from our perspective we feel pretty good about getting some depth now that Harrington, Little K and Markovic were traded or released. Chances that we'd get a player at #32 which would be able to provide value in 2013 in a position we're looking for is very slim. While I think there are players that slip to those levels which are diamonds in the rough, those type of players are generally not going to be contributing right away. And a team probably shouldn't be relying on its #32 pick to provide depth.
Ives had an article that said the NYRBs may be looking to trade LeToux even though he was recently resigned. Any opinions on LeToux to KC via trade? He has a tremendous work rate and seems like a good fit for the Vermes 4-3-3. He also doesn't need to take five shots to get one on frame.
Eh, for the right price it wouldn't hurt. However i don't think he's the answer for the pure goal scorer we need. He could be a winger, maybe?
Still don't believe he fits our system, and beside that I believe we're looking outside MLS for forwards.
And on top of that do you really wanna spend a DP spot on Cooper? He's set to make like 500K this year.
Cooper is horrible and I do not want him in a SKC uniform. "But viv, how can you say he's horrible when he scored 18 goals this year?" Did you see those goals? Half of them were served on a platter from Henry. And it is astounding that he missed some of the ones he did. And in SKC's system where it seems like we really have to grind for a goal, he would be worse than worthless.

Wouldn't #announcement2Follow imply that the league and the team have all come to terms? Announcement means you have something done - not that you are looking...

http://chiefsplanet.com/BB/showpost.php?p=9189001&postcount=77 Zach says to expect a DP signing to be announced Monday. Anyone know if this is true, or at least well-informed speculation?
Isnt it alway a trial even when it isnt official? What team isnt going to pursue a player that comes into their camp and tears it up and works well with the team?
Not anything substantial but Sporting announced their new upgrade of Sporting Style online store. They have a bunch of sales including heavily discounted apparel of past players like Omar Bravo and Davy Arnaud shirts. They also discounted everything relating to Teal Bunbury. He's the only current player I saw with discounted merchandise. Considering Robb has said they are looking for finishers and rumors of a new signing could this indicate Teal is as good as gone?
I wondered that myself when I noticed that the only merchandise at Saturday's sale with pre-printed names and numbers was for Arnaud, Bravo, and Bunbury. However, given that all (blank) authentic and replica jerseys were half-price, it could also just reflect the fact that new/revised kits are expected for 2013.
