I can understand the skepticism that he can get a team in to top 4 or close status ... but he has proven to be a relegation saver. It'll be interesting if he saves the day again. Then, it'll be interesting to see if he can lead a team above middling to low table status. Think you just need to manage your expectations a little.
Aguirre is essentially hired solely to save teams from relegation (see: Osasuna, Zaragoza), it's not his job to get a team currently sitting in last into a Champions League or even a Europa spot. Yes he'll most likely get fired after a season or two, but what do you expect him to be Wenger at Espanyol? I can't believe I'm defending Aguirre, I hate Aguirre! Pinche Conejo, Cuau, Guille...
Not everytime just last time with Zaragoza. Remember he quit osasuna to go to atlético he didn't get fired.... With Atlético he was fired after a series of bad results in la liga but they were still very much alive in champions in the round of last 16, he is the only manager to take that stupid club to champions league in over a decade!!!
I hope Oribe goes, not sure anyone else would take a chance on him. He is a finisher and would do well.
Still 1-1 at the half. Sevilla will play the rest of the game one man down, hopefully Espanyol can take advantage.
