nice. All Napoli dislike aside, I hope he stays there playing at a high level for a long time for the good of Serie A. I remember I used to want him before we got our midfield settled. Of course, not for the insane sum DeLa would seek if he were to be persuaded.

I think 25-30 mil would be a fair price for Hamsik in todays market. How much did Modric go for?

Dela does that to make sure if players go they go outside of the league and in that aspect he is being smart unlike roma who sends players to their direct competitors.

It's not his speed that's the problem. It's his finishing, his dribbling, his passing.

If he had his speed and still wasn't scoring goals then yes we'd still complain about him.

Vucinic isn't shit--but he's no world beater like you want to make him. Vucinic, much like Gio and Quags, are good secondary players to have if you have a truly top striker.

i think both Quags and Gio can flourish with a top striker next to them. When you have vucinic there just for assists or that one great move he makes in the game, it puts ALL the pressure on the other striker. If we played in a system that we played for that lone striker then it could work but we play as a team and its hard for that one striker to pull all the weight when vucinic is in la la land or gets selfish. And his finishing is not great either...he's the type that just shoots the ball directly at the keeper. I know he does small things that are great but if he was a midfielder it would be good...the fact that he takes up a STRIKER spot is whats killing us.

by the way, his near assist to gio was all luck if u notice, the shakhtar defeders messed up twice for him to keep the ball and pass it. Thats not gonna happen all the time.

As if Bendtner wasn't bad enough...

Walcott has next to no footballing IQ whatsoever and he has been utterly overrated for the entirety of his career. If he was Italian, playing for a mid-table Serie A side, people on this forum would be going apeshit about signing another "average Italian".

The fact that Walcott hasn't already renewed with Arsenal is a perfect demonstration of what an idiot he really is. He doesn't deserve to be at a club that size as it is, and he actually think he deserves more money for running around being an ineffective headless chicken. Um, no thanks.

Walcott when he's on is unstoppable. Bendtner when he's on he's a light-weight Borriello. If you don't know the difference I can't help you.

A even a broken clock is right twice a day. If you want to waste wages on a mediocrity like Walcott, which would be substantial given that he's refused to sign a contract extension and that he'd be on free transfer, then I'm not the one who needs help.

Half our fucking squad mediocre. I wouldn't mind spending some salary on a 23 year old who can destroy defenses a couple times a month. We're paying Matri more than Walcott is demanding.

And yet that squad is currently first in Serie A and has just won what was probably the second most difficult group in the CL... whereas Arsenal are currently 10th in the Premier League (which this season is not nearly as strong as it has been in years past) and just finished second in a CL group in which they were heavily favored. Sorry, but I'm not impressed.

I'd rather stick with our own "mediocrity" rather than add more from squads that truly are average at the moment. We may not dribble ourselves into oblivion like Arsenal, but we create more chances than any other side in Europe. We don't need a fancy dribbler (which Walcott is only on a good day, which for him are few and far between), what we need is a clinical finisher.

Manchester City just finished last in their Champions League group. Does that mean you don't think Aguero is better than Matri?

You're saying Walcott isn't any good because Arsenal is bad. Is that your argument or not? You can't pick and choose.

If Walcott were any good, he would've been called up to Manchester City from the farm club by now.
