That was yesterday I assume. City was already done. How about the other matches? I am not trying to give Mancini a pass but at the end of the day, it is the players on the pitch who get it done or not.

They didn't play Madrid yesterday. They played Dortmund.

Well I'll go over every game that I remember watching Man City playing to see where they went wrong

3-2 loss at Santiago Bernabeau, they actually played well here but, they gave Cristiano Ronaldo too much space and he made them pay, their defending was horrid and couldn't protect their lead to get 1 point let alone 3, they were trying to switch between 4 man back line and 3 man back line in the game and clearly the players weren't competent at all with the latter formation.

The Ajax loss because they couldn't mark on set pieces, actually both Ajax games had this problem but they came back to draw the 2nd time.

They sat back on Dortmund and they made them pay once, at home they got bailed out on an iffy penalty when the ball hit Subotics arm even though it was tucked into his body. Technically a handball but I've seen refs not give it due to lack of intent.

Real Madrid at Etihad had the same kinda story, Real Madrid got a goal on Man city and they got a penalty to draw the game.

Then the last game Man City didn't even seem to care, I don't think they ever wanted to play in Europa League.

They were pretty disappointing for the most part, maybe its inflated egos of players, but Mancini had a 0-0 game going against Dortmund until he was switching to 3 man back line and the whole team were wondering wtf he was doing and they conceded.

Ferguson tried to light a fire under Mancini's ass to get Shitty to play extra meaningless european games. Fergie is smart, but Mancini obviously saw what no Europe did for Juve last season. haha.

I don't get this hatred for the Europa League. I'd rather win that than a domestic cup.

I think it has to do with the money involved with winning it. Most big teams don't consider the reward worth risking injury to their expensive players.

You get more from winning the Europa League than the FA Cup.

this risking injury is the stupidest reason....injuries can happen anytime, can happen in practice or walking down the street. If thats the case, they should never play football LOL

Its much harder to win the Europa League though.

yes, but is it really worth risking your best players in the second tier tournament? Rather than secure CL for next season? The big teams dont give a shit about the EL, its obvious. Stupid or not.

yea it makes sense in some ways but the positive also is the more u play and exposure u have to other styles of play, the better your team can develop and do good in the league. Eitherway its risking, u can get injured in Italy probably faster than in Europe cuz of how rough the game is.

That's really a mistake. The Bundesliga is a much better league, second only to Serie A in having genuine footballing appeal. There is dross at the bottom of the table like anywhere but overall, it's got a lot of quality and tactical interest and atmosphere.

Only Athletico Madrid cares about the Europa League.
That's the most damning thing that can be said about it.

I find the bundesliga even harder to watch than the EPL and even La Liga...

I actually do too but that's because I have no relationship with any team or player. When I watch La Liga I usually root for someone for some reason. In Bundesliga I just want Bayern to lose.

ya i dont know what it is i cant get into bundesliga. There was even a long period of time there were a number of Iranians playing there and I had the excuse to catch the games, and even then I never liked it. Its so random and some decisions coaches make are weird, just doesnt appeal to me. la liga and epl i can stand and it can be entertaining at times

I only watch La Liga when there is nothing else to do. And I mean nothing.

I know that the Bundesliga is a good league, I just don't care about it. Much like La Liga, I don't watch it I just know enough about it.

I watch more of the Scottish League than I do the Premier League. I just can't get into it. I know it's the most popular league in the world, but it just doesn't do anything for me. I prefer MLS to the Premier League.

Usually u have to have a reason to watch a league....whether its a team you're rooting for or certain players you like or your countrymen are on that team. Other than that its hard to watch anything if u dont care for either side.

i might not watch full games, but i would tune in and out...catch highlights every week for sure and follow the tables, top scorers, etc....i even check who scores every week in the top 4 leagues with the top of the table teams but really i cant see anyone having enough time to keep up with all the leagues

yeah, I mean, La Liga is just awful if none of Real, Barca, Atletico, Sevilla, or Valencia are playing. Same thing with EPL. But Bundesliga, if Bayern isnt playing I just cant stand it. Even when Bayern is playing, its still boring after they score their 3 goals against whomever.

yeah. Everytime I watch Bundesliga it feels like I'm watching a more advanced version of the MLS for some reason.

I disagree. I don't think it's hard to watch at all. I know a lot of people want to watch the best teams, but without those best teams, the playing field levels, and you'll see some pretty good games. It's essentially like watching Serie B, and I like Serie B, minus the rampant match-fixing, of course.

I disagree, I'll watch a game between two shitty Mexican or Italian teams no problem. It depends on the league's style of play is basically what it boils down to I guess.
