Wow MB speaks way better English than those other guys...

I can't think of this comment without thinking of the fact that you're replying to sidefootsitter, who not long ago didn't think MB would still get called in to the national team once Bob was no longer coach.

Aren't your loudly and repeated opinions regarding this player not fair game in this thread? Or do you forget that your bashing of the Bradley family was in no way limited to Bob?

Good morning everybody. Yet again I have to insist that national team discussions be moved to the USA and US Men N and A forums. YA stops being YA if the threads that are supposed to provide opportunities for talking about club careers instead are devoted to the same arguments and discussions we have in the national team forums.

    Thanks.

She started going hard on the anti-Mike Bradley crusade/ nepotism. Remember the article with Wynalda and then she pretty much disappeared.

    From the aforementioned article:

"Meanwhile, in the past season and a half he has played in Germany for Borussia Moenchengladbach, Michael Bradley has picked up 16 yellow cards..."

Is Soccerway that far off? They have Michael with 13 yellow cards in three seasons.

Basically, 4-5 per year. He's got three so far this year for Roma.

He also plays a position where a decision to take a card to make a statement or end a counterattack is always a possible option. Someone who plays in the back half of the central midfield and does not get some cards, probably needs to take a look at their decisionmaking. A certain amount of cards invariably go with the turf, there.

Bradley being particularly card-prone was never not a load of crap.

He got red carded in a couple high profile USMNT matches, and I think that left a strong impression in people's minds.

I actually didn't agree with all of those calls, but I can understand why that might have colored some people's perception of him.

That's not what colored their perceptions.

He meant the particular perception about MB being a card machine.

Plenty of other false perceptions about MB, too, colored by all kinds of things.

I can't recall the last time Bradley got a YC for the nats. I do remember he seem to have got a few during the Confed and the Olympics and that helped his image as a "hothead". He got a bunch in Germany I think. But the last 2years he seems to have been real restrained.

He took a bunch of "immaturity" YCs in USMNT games. However, it quickly became obvious that he was learning when it was inappropriate to get one. That part of his game has matured at the same rate as the rest of it.

He has 12 yellows in 72 caps. Six total in WC 2010, CC 2009, and qualifiers for 2010 and 2014.

Yellow cards are part of being a central midfielder...there are good ones and bad ones. He doesn't get a lot for the position he's playing and when he does, it is often because he's "taking one for the team" in stopping a dangerous counter attack.

BTW, one thing I noticed from watching Roma games is that he stays outside the box on attacking corner kicks and is often the one trying to break up counter attacks after them.

He picked one up against Spain in the confed. cup as well, right?
Either way, he's definitely seems to pick up fewer cards as of recently.
