Why? Why this match is so important for you dude? We are qualified and we can put the benchers into the pitch, and Pizza for Gomez too, so guys kind Lahm, Dante, Alaba, Martinez and Ribery will have a rest......Of course I'd wish to win but it's not so important.

Don't necessarily buy that lineup as the most likely one, but Boa and DvB makes sense when you consider that Dante has two YC. Same goes for Tymo over Martinez and, in combination with DvB at CB that leaves Javi available for either DM or CB if needed.

I can see giving Lahm a rest after the last couple weeks of a crowded calendar.

What doesn't make any sense to me in this is resting Alaba.

According to Jupp, Pizzaro has a bit of a bug and is questionable for the match.

Yes, not to mention that some of those rested players could be suspended for the next round if they get another yellow card.

    Even Schweinsteiger has 2 yellows.

Agree with this. But imo, Lahm and Alaba should play. Lahm is one player who seldom gets injured or tired; he's one of the fittest players in the squad. After what happened in Borisov, we definitely need Lahm to play. Schweinsteiger on the the other hand could take a rest, both due to form and the card situation.

Muller, Shaq and Ribery starting, Ribery replaced by Contento in the second half if we are leading, with Alaba switching to LW would be ideal.

Lahm had 2 recent average games and esp vs Freiburg I saw him walking around again and again. Maybe he's not tired because he's not giving much energy in some games. I can see why the coach may opt for this, I think some players are worth resting since this is the least important game until Christmas.

This is a game where we will either smash them or have a few good chances in the beginning of the match, miss them, and then struggle but get a close win. Hopefully we obliterate them.

I'm not fan of Alaba as the left winger at all. He just doesn't seem to know what to do there when he plays the position. Maybe in a few years, but there's plenty options out there considerably better than him in that position IMO.

I get what you mean, but that isn't entirely right. He played well for the Austrian team as an attacking mid and is much better at creative play than he is given credit for.

Anyway, what I meant was to switch him upfield to accommodate Contento as a sub, if we are winning comfortably. In the scenario that Javi and Schweini both don't play tomorrow, Kroos plays CM, we don't really have many options for substituting Ribery; apart from whichever combination of Alaba-Shaq-Muller, we only have Shaq-Muller-Rafinha/Weiser. Considering that Badstuber is most likely out for the season, Gustavo is still injured and Contento is the only back up to Alaba, it'd be sensible to give him some match practice.

I'm interested in this game, I think we can relax. We aren't allowed to play Dortmund in the next round, so the only teams that I fear are Madrid and Barcelona, and one of them is a possibility no matter where we finish in the group. Field the B-Team and have some fun. We'll still probably walk away with a win.

Priority #1 for me is no yellows or injuries. FCB needs to get after it early and turn it into a chance for a few others to get some playing time. You know Bate wants to win and get this notch in their belt, FCB should not let that happen. It gives the "Augsburg" of the world hope...

I don't think it matters if we finish first or second in the group. There are tons of good teams that are in second place in their groups right now. If we finish first we could get Madrid, Chelsea Shaktar or Juventus (all possible based on today's results), Milan, etc. If we finish second we could get Barcelona, PSG, Manchester United, Arsenal or the trio of Shaktar, Juve, and Chelsea.

As poor as Chelsea's form is right now, they are going to be a completely different team in February. Trust me.

If we go full force: 5x0 FCB ... If not, 1x0, with chance to tie and f@ck it all up ...

Yeah, Ausgsburg is a very, very difficult team !!

There's a Reason why they have only 1 victory in the Bundesliga (at home against an inconsistent Bremen side)...

Do you rather rest the team against BATE, tie, finish 2nd and face Barcelona or United on the R16 or go full force and crush them and face Cluj or a dreadfull Milan or Arsenal ??

FCBII can beat Augsburg for f@ck sake ...

PS: I find your lack of faith disturbing ...
Arsenal finished 2nd, If we finish 2nd we can't face them ... And they are utter shit anyway ...

You mean Chelsea is going to be a different team in February to contend for the Europa League title right ??? Juve just won't lose this game ...

It'll be much worse finishing 2nd than 1st ... That is why we need to take this game VERY seriously...
