HAHA So did I! But he is on the re-entry list so it appears he will suit up if someone wants him. Hell he did have national duty just a year ago.
LA trades up to 2nd in the Supp Draft to take Colin Clark. RSL takes Lovell Palmer. Does not seem like RSL type of player. Not a good passer.
Freeman - NER James - NOT PICKED Chabala - NOT PICKED Palmer - RSL Moreno - NOT PICKED C Clark - LAG The guys not picked, will likely be out of the league at this point. A handful may be able to come to very low contracts with a team.
I feel bad for Chabala, more on a personal level, he's a great guy and he always bonds very well with his teammates. Seems like a great locker room kind of guy. He also is in very good shape and young I wonder why out of 19 teams who have worse on their team nobody would pick him up?
I agree 100% that I feel sorry fr the guy as he has always come across as a great guy. HOWEVER, he struggled defensively in Houston and in Portland. With the creation of DP's/buzz around them and the improved quality of the american player, the quality of the attacking talent in MLS passed him by. He's just not fast enough. His best bet is to drop down a level and do everything he can to light it on fire and try to work his way back into MLS.
Yeah I definitely understand that. But how does freeman get a team before he does?? Freeman is horrible. At least kinnear thought chabala how to run the flanks and defend and he does score occasionally.
I thought Clark would play somewhere in MLS next year. Left-sided player, still has some skills - not the player he was before injuries but serviceable as a backup in MLS. When Portland traded Chabala to DC, the Timbers announcer (John Strong) threw him under the bus tweeting he was a bad locker room guy. It was a pretty strong tweet from a team broadcaster. Chabala is now going to be looking for his 4th team in about 18 months. As a left-sided player, he probably gets more looks than he would at right back.
Look-Chewie has always been good to me and my son. More than gracious to chat everytime we had a chance. But with that tweet combined with the timing and way he left us, it does make one wonder what was going on. I agree with Clark-definitely not the same guy since the knee, but a very good depth guy.
I might take a look at JJ. I mean if you could get the guy for 70k he would be worth the depth. But i guess with Brunner we dont really have a spot. Plus i think Dom prefers old, less skilled guys that dont make mistakes over young skill guys that make mistakes. I just think that surely JJ as cleaned up his game a little since he left here and he could pair well with Boswell. Actually after writing all this i remembered he is an international guy. I bet that hurts his chances as much as anything else. Tough to use too many international spots for backups.
Anybody know what Richard Mulrooney is up to these days. I was just thinking about him today and almost had forgotten about him. Great player, but sometimes fails behind more popular guys like waibel or barrett.
his wife used to work in the medical field in Kingwood. But in one of our conversations he stated that they were thinking of moving closer to family so I am not sure if they bolted after he was done here. He said he liked Houston, but it sounded like they wanted to be around at least one set of their parents so I would probably guess that they moved. Nice family.
last time i saw him was about a year ago at a kids birthday party at one of the dynamo player's house... haven't seen or heard from him since. love that guy...
Huh, that's funny. I would have sworn he retired in 2009. He played as if he was no longer an active player in 2010.
I remember someone winning a pair of hie game worn cleats in an auction. She received a pair of cleated Ryan wore when he was 8 playing for the Super Troopers Youth League Team.
I remember someone winning a pair of hie game worn cleats in an auction. She received a pair of cleats Ryan wore when he was in high school, because no one remembers him playing in a game after that!
