    Thanks man

I think when he says Finish Line - he means that they are close to a deal with the city - but the battle will just begin then.

ULURP is a long and tough process - and even with Bloomie pushing it through as fast as he can..still going to meet resistance.

2016 is the date for new stadium, but it is there some hope for 2014 in a temporary stadium ( Citi Field for example ) or is it necessary to wait 3.5 years ?

Napoli - MLS has stated - to me personally cause i asked them about this..they want the teams to start in their own stadium - they feel it maximizes the moment.

Can they change that - of course but just so you know that the league is very strong on this feeling

It will be a long time for the stadium to go through the bureaucracy that is planning. 2016 is the earliest to expect the stadium.

I would think so - iand that is with Bloomy pushing it through at full force.

If they were able to avoid the ULURP process - then we could have seen an earlier date but dont look like thats happening.

I am so jumping on the NYC2 bandwagon if this comes to fruition. No shame here. I got some NYC street cred: I am an NYU grad and lived in Brooklyn for 4 years. Never felt a connection to the MetroStars when I was lived there and RBNY is just continuing the same mess from the previous owners.

In other words, it's true that they are at the finish line, but there's still another lap to go.

After reading this, it seems obvious that the Cosmos in MLS are a pipe dream unless they sell the Cosmos name to whomever wins the NYC2 franchise. Too bad, would have liked to see them get in.

If the league gets foreign investors, they could sell the name and retain an influence at the club. Cosmos are dead without MLS, and they wont be leading any NASL revolution.

Im personally starting to care less and less about Cosmos involvement if some of these investor rumors are legit.

i still think there will be changes in ownership again- If O'Brien wanted to run this club for the future - he would have been making plans to move here. Instead he is hoping around racking up the Airline miles.

Its so tiring but there is still a whole chapter to be written on this story

I only hope that the BBs will not perpetrate another error to do credit to these other clowns after Peterson ( NYFC ) and Kemsley. It should be absurd to think that an club that will play HALF SEASON in 2013 can be something of serious !!!
NYC DESERVES ONLY A TEAM IN MLS !!! ******** OFF COSMOS AND NASL!!!
Garber give us a new NYC soccer team ( NYCFC or International ) in MLS.

Right FCNY and PK were a disaster but to say ******** off Cosmos? You always preach on how you love NY and all that but do you know what the Cosmos meant to so many? Ive seen grown men in tears when thinking about seeing that team back in action.

Who knows what it is going to be dude but the Cosmos...while being a circus act a bit this second time around...are part of NYC soccer..and one many hold close to their hearts still.

    There was no renderings

Basically it was a bunch of local speakers - leaders and soccer leaders talking about supporting the project etc

Garber outlined the planned- nothing new that we havent heard

Replacing park land acre for acre
Parking solutions - including adding spots under Van Wyck that is currently sitting baren - that parking could also be used by public

Fixing up the field BEFORE construction and making sure no fields are closed during construction

Working to ensure proper drainage for storm flooding etc

Working with Mets on using their parking spots

Stadium 25K - expandable to 30K without taking up more park - Garber says he thinks this team will be a "popular" team

Politcal leaders said they would hold Garbers Feet to the fire - meaning they expect him to back his world and make sure all the park land is replaced etc

Leaders are in support - looking forward to the challenge etc

Pretty much same shit but was a well run show by MLS - they definitly are working hard at this...if they fail, its not from lack of effort.
