I thought that game was in DC (his first game and quick goal). At that the time it was the fastest goal into a career of an MLS player. Not sure if that record has been broken or not.

That's right, and it was broken by Sapong.

I completely forgot Sapong broke that record.

Not happening. At least if the news quotes about this guy are accurate:
And the speedy forward is happy turning out for Huub Stevens’ Bundesliga side, though he would be willing to leave Gelsenkirchen for clubs he considers the biggest in the game, to pursue his dream of winning the Champions League.

"Earlier in the close season there was Juventus, but no agreement was reached", a source close to Farfan told Depor.

"Jefferson is content at the club and it will take an offer from a big club in Europe for him to leave."

And the source was in no doubt which clubs Farfan would be eyeing a switch to if offered the chance.
"He told me he wants to play at Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United and AC Milan.

    Me first!

Sounds like we may be really making moves. Hopefully we can get them done quickly.

If Harrington does leave, we are suddenly very thin on defense. We should have kept Markovic...

Unless he was due a decent pay raise...

We were already thin defensively due to eho we waived and I'd expect players to be brought in this offseason to fill the other holes.

NY apparently getting offers for Kenny Cooper. Could we be one of the teams?

The Kansas City Star reported that Harrington had heard absolutely nothing about a transfer, to Portland or anywhere else.

I don't think he'll fit our system so I'd be surprised if we were.
I'm guessing he knows he just can't say. I fully expect that trade to happen.

Interesting - because if anything I would expect Harrington to be the guy pushing the deal, you know? Seems like he is good enough to deserve more time than he got here, and part of me thinks a change might be good for him.

If he isn't pushing to leave, I'd be surprised if we moved him. He's such a useful player to have and PV seems to greatly value flexibility.

I was going to suggest we go after him, but didn't think there was a chance in hell NY would want to get rid of him. I would love to have him here. I see him as being a very similar player to Teal with better finishing ability. He's always been criticized for not being more physical, but I think he's actually gotten a lot better with that in the last couple of years.

Why don't you like him here Buzz? Think he fits better in a 2-forward system?

He doesn't work the way Vermes wants his forwards to work in the 4-3-3. And then there's the question of which Cooper you get, the one that scored 18 for NY or the one that pouted and scored 8 in Portland. I don't want him

Also he's not worth DP money if that $500k Ives mentioned is accurate.

Cool, I guess. But suddenly our hefty focus in the back is kind of waffling.

With all these moves i think well see either another trade or a signing coming up sooner rather than later.

tucked into the end of the release is the news that KC won't exercise their option on Korede Aiyegbusi.

Apparently Besler has an offer to trial with QPR per 810. Now that could be an instance of confusing trial and training.

Does Besler even have a cap? I'm thinking he didn't sub in to that Mexico game...which might make it tough for him to get a UK work permit right now.

So, if you don't mind indulging a curious Timber fan, what is Harrington's natural position? We've been hearing rumblings of him playing at left back, which would be nice, but we're equally needy in the right back department. Also, what got him sent to the bench? Seemed like he was a really solid player for KC a couple years ago.
