so one thing i dont like about this formation is that we bring the ball up with our defenders instead of pirlo. we always have either of bonu, chiellini and barza bring the ball up all the way into the opposing half.....but that time everyone of the 21 players are into 1 half. it's too congested and thats why our forwards have a hard time....there is no room for them or any of the other players. we keep passing the ball around to open space but usually its not very useful. This is also why you see different players scoring cuz its a matter of distracting the other team and that one moment they have a lack of concentration is when we score.

i like how this formation works but it needs some tweeking and i also think we're getting comfortable with it against weak serie A teams, it might not work so good against tougher euro sides or as we've seen with other teams that play the same formation like fiorentina and napoli

furthermore, this formation ONLY works when everyone of the players have a good game and you have to have the right players for it. When you move things around and use new faces, it doesnt work as well...unless you rotate these players often enough. I also like to be flexible and try 4-3-3 sometimes

    what are your thoughts?

i like 3-5-2 however u cannot deny that its susceptible to COUNTERS...this has been evident in most of the goals we've been scored on and in the Italy NT games

furthermore, we pack the opposing half with NO REAL PLAN and we pass the ball around or send crosses in for giovinco to head it in

i like to see us open up the game a bit more....try 4-3-3 at some points...our main formation should still be 3-5-2 but switch it up a little bit and be flexible against your opponent, it doesnt always work

Why should we go back to 4-3-3 ? because of the loss against Inter ?We don't have a left back.

Sure we do, we've got the mighty PDC! Or you can keep Chiellini on the left and put Lucio in the middle.

No, left back is not the position for Asamoah. He was at fault on the third goal. He lucked out with the offside call against Catania. There was a similar play earlier in the season to that of Saturday. He does not react like a defender. He does not pick up a mark or try to put him offside. Left back would be a disaster for him.

you're right perhaps but those the inter game and the other one, he was really part of a 3 man defense not 4 we took out caceres for quags...so we had 3 strikers

The 3-5-2 is good if you don't have a good squad so we should stick with it until we can get some talent.

Left back has been a priority for years now and it remains unaddressed...

Well if we go back to the 4-3-3 more often, then I understand your concern. A true LB would be needed.

it was actually good to see the 4-3-3 after a while....although the LB is a problem, our offense and flow of the game is much better at 4-3-3
