Not sure if the same is posted elsewhere, with reference to the below article...

Just wondering, what is the highest number of major pro sports leagues titles (e.g. NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS, etc...) that were concurrently held by the sports teams from the same city / state?

Were there anything more than the 2 by L.A./California as of now? (i.e. L.A. Kings with Stanley Cup 2011-12 & L.A. Galaxy with MLS Cup 2012)

I think Boston had 3 at one point in the last decade.

Found!! Yes, that would be Boston in 2004:

The highest record is 4 by L.A. in 2002:

Time to update the page with L.A. Kings' Stanley Cup 2011-12 and L.A. Galaxy's MLS Cups in 2011 & 2012...

My dad calls 1969 "the year New York beat Baltimore." In the Super Bowl, the Jets beat the Colts, and in the World Series, the Mets beat the Orioles.

Then the Knicks beat the Bullets in the playoffs to win the 1969-70 title. But by that point the Chiefs had won the Super Bowl, so New York only held two titles at any particular time. Still, I found that amusing.

We may not have won all them but Philly is the only city to have played in the Stanley Cup, NBA Finals, World Series, and Super Bowl in the same year (1980). I think that should get an exception since this is Philly we are talking about. :D

Yes, but in typical Philly fashion, we went 1 for 4! Thank you Phillies!

Went to 4 finals, only won 2 though: 2007-08. That is if we're going by season and not calendar year.

Though not all from one city, 1989 was such a year for the Bay Area: the San Francisco 49ers won the Super Bowl in both January 1989 (1988 NFL season) and January 1990 (1989 NFL season), the San Francisco Giants won the NL Pennant, and the Oakland Athletics won both the AL Pennant and the MLB World Series.

Some don't recognize the Kings Stanley Cup due to the missed boarding call on Gionta just seconds before Bernier crushed our hopes and dreams. We want a replay of games 6 and 7. Until then, it's unofficial.

I would normally say that some in this case would apparently refer to whiny Devils fans, but as I don't recognize the legitimacy of the Steelers 5th Super bowl in 2006 for similar reasons I understand where you're coming from. ;)
