I am for it as long as we get to see his wife standing on the sideline in a bikini every game.

Well Benny Feilhaber got waved from NE today. If my memory serves me right didn't Vermes say that Benny is a player they like and tried to go after. Is he the guy to replace Roger?

I would love to bring Benny into our group. I have thought he would play great in our system since he came to the league.

Benny is not the same as Roger. He is a good midfeilder though. Give a little bit on defense for a bit on offense. It would be a good pick up.

Agreed. I think Feilhaber would be a great pickup. I see him as the attacking mid in the midfield triangle, which would allow Zusi to stay out wide.

I don't think Feilhaber is eligible for the re-entry draft since he hasn't been in the league long enough. What is the process to acquire him? Is it as simple as making him an offer?

Revs still own his MLS rights. SKC would have to trade for him.

We will trade you Gomez's rights.

Feilhaber made 400k last year. He'd basically replace the cap space of Cesar and Espinoza combined. That's a lot of outlay for an MLS team, unfortunately....especially since he might want to go back to Europe and would require giving something to New England.

Re-entry draft, I think Tchani or Opara would be worth a flier. Highly-ranked prospects that looked good early before having some injury issues. Maybe take a chance on just one of them.

But then he was waived. No way he makes that much again if he comes back.

No he wasn't waived, his option was declined, the Revs still own his MLS rights, if he was waived anyone could pick him up.

sure, but Benny isn't going to take a major pay cut if he can make it in Europe. Even if you figure a 35% cut you're starting from a huge base figure. Plus, as noted, I'm pretty sure KC would be picking up his option.

Interesting quote from the wiki article...

    I wouldn't consider 16 months a "long term" contract...

We've apparently traded Harrington to Portland. Allocation money by the sounds of it.

IIRC, Harrington scored a goal in his first game in Arrowhead in 2007. That was my first game as a STH, and it seems like a freaking million years ago.

Not his first game at Arrowhead, but his first game period.

Not surprised on moving Harrington, good value player, and he needs to play regularly. He will start for them.

23 goals in 43 appearances? A midfielder to boot. He is 24, so on the upswing of things. This could be interesting. Couple this with allocation money not only from Harrington but champs league as well. We are stockpiling some money.

Holy crap I am watching some of his videos, looks very promising. He is either out on the wing, or an a-mid from what I can tell.

If Google Translate is accurate, the contract was for 3.5 years and about 25 million korunas, or something like $1.3 million. So the remaining two years would be on the order of $800K (total) plus the transfer fee. Worth it? According to transfermarkt.co.uk, his contract indeed runs through 12/31/14, and his "market value" is 1.5 million Euros or roughly $2 million.
