Can we cheer for a meteor to hit the HDC at 3:05pm on Saturday?

How we wish there was a team filled with Calen Carrs.

It was nice to see Carr score at least. Also thought they got the MVP wrong. My choice would've been Keane. That guy is a beast.

  7. Too bad, because the beer and burgers at Palmers were great and the sight of cheerful kids waiting for Santa even perked up the missus.

I should have gone to Palmers or Chequers instead of watching the game.

At least New York wasn't in it and Beckham didn't score so the Empire wasn't completely victorious. And we won't have to put up all the Eurosnobs in Beckham Galaxy shirts at TP along with the Eurosnobs in Henry NYRB shirts when the DeadBulls come to town.

It would have been better if only the top eight teams made the playoffs...

I agree. Do you suppose he makes "Keane-type money?"

Actually, they got it right. Gonzalez knocked Houston's goal scorer out of the game without even getting a foul called on him and then scored LA's only non-PK goal, ironically from a set piece. That's an MVP performance.

Disagree partly. Omar might've knocked Carr out and had that nice towering header but I always thought the MVP meant the whole playoff run. If we're judging by that Keane wins it hands down. It isn't even a contest.

Ah, I assume it is MVP of just the MLS Cup Final game, not the entire play-offs. Of course, if you want to go the whole season, Gonzalez is still my pick for MVP considering LA's record with him versus without him. Keane may be great, but I think the Galaxy have an easier time winning without him than winning without Gonzalez. YMMV.
