Not really sure who @MLSTransfers is exactly, but they've been very active the past day or so since they went live:

It looks more and more certain that FC Dallas isn't going to re-sign Kevin Hartman.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/hartman-fc-dallas-appear-outs-152144369--mls.html

    Basically a salary cap casualty.........................

One presumes FCD will re-sign Chris Seitz, and he'll compete with Richard Sanchez for the starting job next year.

Hartman will be available in the waiver draft for any club with a lot of salary cap space. Who needs a keeper?

The Union are looking for an experienced vet to backup/push MacMath and keep him moving in the right direction. Hartman seems to fit this bill better than Hesmer (option declined by Columbus).

Maybe you are interpreting that wrong?

Perhaps the GA portion of the contract only runs those first two years. When a team exercises the option on the contract the players are no longer GA.

Which makes some sense. I believe if a team changes (extends, renegotiates, etc) the contract of any GA player they graduate from GA?

If Hartman doesn't resign with Dallas for a reasonable contract over $100k, I think he has been incredibly hard-done by this league. For how good he has consistently been and to be dumped by SKC and possibly Dallas like this, is just lame. Isn't anyone willing to let him ride off into the sunset with all his MLS records?

IMO if you bring in Hartman you bring him in to start. IMO Hesmer is better for that role. Hartman to NE could make sense (or Portland/MTL/Toronto/Van).

After today and this whole year I would seriously bring him back to LA to compete with Saunders.

I really like Hemer but I just don't see how he comes back from a Hip problems, he had micro fractures in his hip that was causing him pain. I know in one interview he hinted at retirement, unless a team can get for much less than what he was earning at Columbus, he was Making 170,000.00 at Columbus.

    RSL should do that.

And just for allocation money. They must have a designated player lined up that they're ready to buy the contract down under the 335K figure.

Kudos to NY though. Henry and Espindola on the same field at the same time might be the most dislikeable front line in the history of the league.

Not necessarily. They were already over the cap with the players they had and they lost the CCL allocation money for next year. Add in the fact that Gil will graduate from GA and you see how big the problem is.

Monday should be interesting since it sounds like there are quite a few trades lined up.

Hearing on twitter that SKC traded Michael Harrington to Portland for allocation money and Portland has sent Kimura to NY for allocation money.

Both of them make runs shaded to the left side--Espindola b/c he's left-footed and Henry to cut in on his right. Espindola also won't track back like a MF, so it's a mystery to me where they're going to play him unless he's a straight backup for Henry.

Man, there's a lot going on this offseason--guess the fact that only 3 months pass between the final and opening day helps focus some minds.

Wow....definitely gonna be looking at a different team next year.

And NY tries another aging CB to solve their defensive problems. Maybe this will work out better, if he can stay healthy.

Finally, gotta wonder how NY has space to add these players but RSL doesn't....

Good point in your other post.

This one makes me wonder...where do NY and POR have all this allocation money from?

We needed the CCL allocation funds to keep the present roster another year.

We've jettisoned (or will tomorrow) five players, with Jonny Steele and Paulo Jr. also gone. We've added zero players while picking up about a million in salary space and a reported $500,000 in allocation money. Kreis, Lagerway, Andy Williams, and apparently some others have been out of the country scouting and negotiating pretty much nonstop since the playoff loss, and there'll be lots more coming in Salt Lake before all is said and done.

Hearing conflicting reports on this. His tweets sound like he is leaving but other people say it is just him going on winter break.

Rumor is that Rafa Marquez is out at RBNY. And his new home is with the Columbus Crew!?
