As much as I appreciate "Believe", I think it was over-used in 2012. Playing it after goals does not mesh with the "battle hymn's begun" portion of the lyrics, IMO. It makes sense to me to limit its use to the beginning of the game and maybe the beginning of the second half. More often than that leads to burnout, at least for me.

So...what to do for goals? I certainly don't want Gwen Stefani to return. Offseason boredom has sent me to FIFA 2013 on XBOX. In the process, I heard this:. It's by Imagine Dragons, a semi-local group from Vegas. The part around 0:48 is pretty catchy.

Still voting for Sweet Escape. It was short, simple, and everyone got involved.

I'm still voting for Song 2 by Blur. Similar chorus, only much better.

Or, we could just let everybody sing "Ole" instead. I'd rather hear the crowd than a minute and a half of some song that either a) I hate or b) I will hate after hearing 90 seconds of it 2-3 times a match and probably in a bunch of TV promos.

I agree on Ole... it's classic, it's easy for anybody to figure out, it sounds nice. :)

I think he meant once at kickoff, again at halftime, and then any potential goals scored...

Wouldn't it be nice if RSL did score 2-3 times a match though? Hey, I can dream can't I?

I was so annoyed when I first heard it as our goal song for the exact reasons you gave. It never made sense to me

Variety is the spice of life. Beating a tune into the bloody ground is still ... you get the idea.

FWIW: West Ham United plays Blowing Bubbles (and blows the bubbles) after every goal.

Yeah but Bubbles has been around forever, and it's sung by everyone, and it's played at a low enough volume that you can actually hear the crowd, and it's not on a different rhythm than the fans, and....

and if there was one club's whos fans I would really liked to be linked with, at the moment, it's West Ham's... It wasn't just these 2 idiots, either. You could hear it on TV. it was disgraceful

Honestly, the gwen steffani song was perfect. Easy to catch on to, easy to sing, the crowd (the majority) loved it. If we have to do something different, why not use the local awesomeness:

Oh oh, I want some more...

Better imagine dragons song for goals/this season

    new age, baby.

Anyone who thought I was suggesting "I'm forever blowing bubbles" totally missed the point. The question was whether we should play Believe after goals. My point was that many teams play their 'team song' at start of halves and when goals are scored.

There goes 15, pimping his man crush. ;) It is catchy enough to work though. I'm of the mind that Believe is better served at the start of each half, and something to chant to try and get the team going during a rough patch of the game. I like the short simple stuff after the goals.

So why not go with ANY OTHER TEAM's song?
You just had to pick the one with the current idiots all over the English press...?

Believe should be played after the other team scores.

I think after we score, the whole crowd should just shout, "You Suck, ^%^^^$^";)

I say that after we score, we all go silent, go to our assigned seats and order Diet Cokes.

We need something with a hard-charging, heavy-metal beat. I would think anything that would be good long-distance driving music (stuff that makes it really, really hard to maintain the posted speed limit). Judas Priest's "Free Wheel Burning", "Heading out the the Highway" or "Electric Eye", Metal-Li-Ca's "Jump in the Fire" or "Crazy Train" by the Oz would be good (I'm partial to Free Wheel Burning).

Just as long as the song isn't something currently being heard on your average pop station. If not, we might as well go with Gungam Style or Call Me Maybe.

Hell, maybe Gungam Style should be the one. We could all get up and dance after every goal. That would be cheesy.

They've done Crazy Train before the second half a few times. They also did Gangnam Style to some pre-game highlights. :D Oppa Salt Lake Style?
