Although I can understand your misconception of relating difficult to impressive it is not always the same. There are some impressive goals from penalties, I can remember Batistuta blasting the ball and scoring impressive penalty kicks. The opposite is also true; Messi scores the more difficult free kicks then lets the whole team down on the simplest task vs Chelsea for example.

At the end of the day there are too many variables to identify a good goal, like maybe a free kick goal was due to the goal keeper positioning, or a CR7-Pepe deflection.

Taking penalties out of the statistics to boost up a player that does not score many penalties is misleading information; and a miss-use of statistical data.

Still misleading, especially in soccer where there are a large amount of variables. Maybe your 10-PK defender also gave 10 assists, and your 0-PK defender scored all goals from corner kicks and headers and gave no assists. It does tell something different about each player... but at the end of the day if both players scored the same amount of goals .. that is the factual evidence; nothing more, nothing less.

If by personal you mean because I disagree, and it annoys me how statistical data is manipulated to make THE BEST PLAYER even better..when compared with others? then I guess it is personal.

How many of the penalties scored by CR7 or Falcao were not "won" by the players themselves? You make it seem like earning penalties depend on the teammates... and sometimes it does but not always... If there hadn't been a penalty offense would CR7 or Falcao scored goals from open play? Probably..

If Messi would have been awarded more penalties would he have more goals? Maybe ...

Big draw today in Berlin for Koln, hard to get excited about a draw but against the 2nd placed team in the table at their place it seems a step in the right direction.

PSG may have big Qatari money now, but they haven't been ever been a powerhouse, except arguably in the days of George Weah. In fact, it's especially weird that a capital as large and important as Paris would only have one major club, and it was only founded in 1970.

We could say the trend also applies to Spain, but Atletico does have 4 European titles in the last 2 years (2 Europa, 2 SuperCup). ;)

And during the days of the Cold War when Germany was divided, the capital of the Bundesrepublik (West Germany) was Bonn. I don't know any club that plays in Bonn.

Lazio also plays in Rome. I recall around 1999/2000-ish they each won Serie A.
Roma reached the '84 European Cup final while Lazio won the last ever Cup Winners Cup in '99.

Long before anyone had heard of PSG there was Racing Club de France. Their peak was in the 1930s and 40s. Only won the Ligue once but were five time Coupe winners. They were based in the Paris suburb Colombes and their home stadium, the Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir, was the venue for the 1924 Paris Olympic Games and the 1938 World Cup final (Italy v Hungary).
I'm not sure they still play at that venue, though. They've struggled financially since around the 1960s and have undergone a name change since.
I'm not certain but I think Argentina's Racing Club were named after Racing Club de France. Could just be coincidence but they both wear light blue and white striped shirts with black shorts..

Still need my Barca fix, also, I've hear Barca's record is the best ever start in Liga, tying the all time best start by Real Madrid about 20 years ago, question is when do we top it? 1 more win? 2 more, 3 more?
Yes, two huge ones in Munich and Madrid, here's a "top 5" someone put together (the same guy who tries to use a computer model to rank the top 25-35 clubs in the world):
    http://www.worldclubrankings.com/
Top Five Matches of the Weekend:
    1. Borussia Dortmund at Bayern Munich (Saturday, 11:30 am (EST), GolTV)
    2. Atlético Madrid at Real Madrid (Saturday, 4:00 pm, beIn, beInE)
    3. Everton at Manchester City (Saturday, 10:00 am, FSC, FoxD)
    4. Tijuana at Toluca (Sunday, 6:00 pm, Univision)
    5. Houston Dynamo at Los Angeles Galaxy (Saturday, 4:30 pm, ESPN, TeleFutura, ESPN3)

Also the Turin derby and MLS final.

However, they all take a back-seat to the AFC Wimbledon-MK Dons match. Fifty years from now this will probably be one of the biggest rivalries in football, and here is our chance to say we watched the first match.

No. It won't be one of the biggest rivalries in football because a rivalry requires that the fans of each team care about the other team, and to care about the other team you have to acknowledge that they exist, and one of the teams' fans simply don't acknowledge that the other team exists. That's why, for this match, the Wimbledon travelling support isn't travelling. They actively wish this tie wasn't happening, because they'd rather not do anything that implies they acknowledge the existence of the other team.

3000 are expected to travel. Quite a lot for a 4th division club.

you're generally correct. But once they start playing more regularily, I think the mindset of AFC fans will change over time.

I think, in spite of all the giddiness that Atleti is going into the derby 8 points ahead of LPB, that there's no better prescription for a rut for LPB than facing their crosstown "rivals." It's like the best thing they could hope for at a moment like this, because they are looking for something to motivate them and historically Atleti bends over/chokes/gets shafted.

Fun fact: The last time Atleti beat LPB it was at the Bernie, and they ended the season relegated!

For their final trainbing session today at 12:00, Atletico worked out in front of 20,000 inside the Calderon.

On Friday Mourinho said during his press conference that he would leave the dressing room before the players came out for warm ups and enter the Bernabeu pitch at 21:20 so that the Madridistas can give their opinion of him.

MARCA says there was more applause than jeers... but there were also only 3,000 in the stadium at the time.
