Although I can understand your misconception of relating difficult to impressive it is not always the same. There are some impressive goals from penalties, I can remember Batistuta blasting the ball and scoring impressive penalty kicks. The opposite is also true; Messi scores the more difficult free kicks then lets the whole team down on the simplest task vs Chelsea for example.

At the end of the day there are too many variables to identify a good goal, like maybe a free kick goal was due to the goal keeper positioning, or a CR7-Pepe deflection.

Taking penalties out of the statistics to boost up a player that does not score many penalties is misleading information; and a miss-use of statistical data.

Still misleading, especially in soccer where there are a large amount of variables. Maybe your 10-PK defender also gave 10 assists, and your 0-PK defender scored all goals from corner kicks and headers and gave no assists. It does tell something different about each player... but at the end of the day if both players scored the same amount of goals .. that is the factual evidence; nothing more, nothing less.

If by personal you mean because I disagree, and it annoys me how statistical data is manipulated to make THE BEST PLAYER even better..when compared with others? then I guess it is personal.

How many of the penalties scored by CR7 or Falcao were not "won" by the players themselves? You make it seem like earning penalties depend on the teammates... and sometimes it does but not always... If there hadn't been a penalty offense would CR7 or Falcao scored goals from open play? Probably..

If Messi would have been awarded more penalties would he have more goals? Maybe ...

Big draw today in Berlin for Koln, hard to get excited about a draw but against the 2nd placed team in the table at their place it seems a step in the right direction.

No. It won't be one of the biggest rivalries in football because a rivalry requires that the fans of each team care about the other team, and to care about the other team you have to acknowledge that they exist, and one of the teams' fans simply don't acknowledge that the other team exists. That's why, for this match, the Wimbledon travelling support isn't travelling. They actively wish this tie wasn't happening, because they'd rather not do anything that implies they acknowledge the existence of the other team.
