Commisioner Don Garber mentioned this possibility (imo made it sound like it was a sure thing) when he was quoted in this article the day LA Galaxy & Beckham announced his final Galactic game as a player. “When David Beckham signed with the LA Galaxy in 2007, he set out to help grow MLS and the sport of soccer in North America,” MLS Commissioner Don Garber said. “There is no doubt that MLS is far more popular and important here and abroad than it was when he arrived. David has achieved great things on and off the field during his time with the Galaxy, and he will always be an important part of our history. We look forward to his continued involvement with the LA Galaxy and the League.” article UPDATE: Kevin Baxter's LA TIMES STORY on possible partnership"expect Beckham to become an equity partner with the LA Galaxy"
Or Maybe NOT. Beckham interested in Cosmos role ESPN Article Rumor had it Beckham was contemplating a move to the Empire State, particularly Manhattan. There are business oppurtunities for David. New York Cosmos comes to mind? "Victoria is keen to move to New York to set up her business there and open her first store. She looked at a school when she was there. There are also business opportunities for David, too," the source added. Entertainmentwise Article
According to the Sunday World, a senior Cosmos source said that discussions were underway with Beckham and his advisers. “David has confirmed his interest and we expect an announcement before Christmas,” the source told the newspaper. According to the Daily Star in England, Beckham WAS interested in part-ownership of the Galaxy. Anschutz Entertainment Group, which owns the MLS club, is on the block for $7.2 billion BUT there have been no takers. A source close to Beckham told the Star: “New York is looking like the deal he’ll go for. “As far as the Galaxy are concerned, without knowing who the eventual new owners are likely to be he felt it was too risky for him to hope they offer him a co-ownership deal there.” SourcesThis Is Cosmos CountryTropiGolBig Apple SoccerESPN FCESPN UKSKY BETCosmos 16/1Dave DenholmTo Many to Post, Forgive Me

Saw the video from sky sports and TL is redeeming himself outstandingly especially when he says things like, "Who would want to live somewhere other than LA".
Not that I want to start any rumors but the possibility does exist. A few days ago VSI Tampa & it's partners proposed an MLS Soccer Specific Stadium at a price of $400 million with a capacity for 28,888 seats, a retractable roof and a world-class sports medicine center to be ready by 2016. The most interesting thing about this venture are the investors themselves. Many are former premiership players. Shaun Wright Phillips to name just one. Beckham can be the red carpet walk straight to MLS.
I think florida had it's chance with the fusion and the mutiny they love college handball, pro handball, baseball, and basketball. But another football club there would be like a inmate on deathrow, I just don't see the support from floridians of the world's game.
Just wanted to correct myself. I had mentioned that former premiership players were investing. Truth is some are still playing the beautiful game. Shaun Wright Phillips to name just one. This Short List of VSI investors is impressive Former English Premier League players Mark Hughes and Ian Wright, as well as current players Shawn Wright-Phillips, Mikel John Obi, Stephen Warnock and Danny Collins. "Due diligence is still under way there, so we're not prepared to comment on that,"— Ron Gettelfinger
Seeing Uncle Phil there at the trophy presentation, a sort of off-the-wall idea occurred to me.. What if Anschutz were to buy the Galaxy out of the AEG package with Becks as a minority partner? We all know the Gs are a rounding error in the full value of AEG, and that Uncle Phil has a special attachment to soccer. Maybe the Galaxy could be the one piece he keeps for himself, but under a new ownership structure that mitigates his capital exposure and risk?
