There was talk earlier that it might not be on now that there's really only a 2 week lead to the game, problems with organization, etc. Not sure if there was any real decision made or not, but there was at least the talk about not having it in its current form.
Link? This would be a shock, from my perspective at least. Can't believe the league did not prepare for this in advance.
According to AJ's latest interview, his goal is just to make the 18: http://www.latimes.com/sports/soccer/la-sp-baxter-soccer-20121118,0,6963005.story According to the story, he was on the field training with the Galaxy the day before the second Sounders game in his second full practice with the team, so he's only just getting back into it. I can't imagine he can jump right back in there and get back up to speed without even so much as a reserve game to work the kinks out. He'll have been out of action for two months.

+1. Well ACB, set something up ASAP, otherwise here is a solution: in next season's MLS Cup Playoffs, the nine teams that have a chance at hosting MLS Cup need to determine a location and date to host the event, as well as plan out the program itself. That will be done through the main supporters' groups of the teams. The fact that there may not be a summit it because this was not planned ahead of schedule. Logistics, man, logistics.
Here is a little rewind to last year. (psst...I am the one with the light beige hat and the dark black jacket at the bottom.) Also, for your perusal, are some stuff I took from last year's MLS Cup. I think you gotta keep Meyer in there. He's been playing the entirety of the playoffs. AJ will be too rusty.
I agree with this. I hope AJ gets into the 18 and logs some minutes at the end, when we're up two goals. I think Buddle and Sarvas should start on the bench too, with Wily on the right and LD up top.
I am currently watching the first leg of the Apertura Liguilla semis between Leon and Tijuana, and I realized that the Los Angeles Galaxy's biggest key to victory is this: score two goals in three minutes. That means cheese up the counterattack and establish better team speed. If Los Angeles can dominate possession, outrun Houston, win a sh*tload of the duels and score two goals in three minutes (preferably in the first half), it will be an insurmountable mountain for the Dynamo to climb.
Aaron Ariza Arak @aaronarak If you're an @LAGalaxy fan and are coming to MLS Cup, go get ponchos. Forecast calls for 60% change of rain. Hope it's a true repeat of 2011
Gentlemen, Ladies: Congrats. I'm amazed that two wild cards are paired up in the Final given the schedule each had to slog through. It is testament to the quality of the two teams. I see this match as two teams, either of which can lay claim to be the greatest team of MLS 2.0: (3 cups, 4 finals over 7 years |or| back2back cups, 3 finals, 2SSs). Here is is to a great final. I'm looking forward to the visit. Who the hell is responsible for the weather out there?
Chance of a kick ass game is still 100% Chance that I will go home having lost my voice cheering is still 100% Steve
Why is the ESPN ad for this game so bad? Seriously - it's like a kid did the motion graphics. I love their opening montage segments, so why are the ads so terrible? Probably a different agency, but man...yuck. It's on the homepage of MLSsoccer.com if folks want to see it.
