I respect Reja but don't want him back...we need to move forward and while he is the type of coach to play youngsters (Pocho and Hamsik, Santacroce at the time...all come to mind), the reality is, who else did he really have then? Might as well play the youth...don't know he'd be so inclined to start Insigne every game now...not with Pandev there either way, the steps this organization make (transfers, coach, new stadium) in January or at the end of the season, will say a lot about how serious De La is about the club.... hold on boys...I have a feeling this is gonna be a rollercoaster ride!
theres plenty of formations in which you can have Cavani/Hamsik/Insigne/Pandev on the field simultaneously and not be defensively liable, we don't really have the players for the 3-5-2 but yet Mazzarri insists on keeping on running it. Then we run the 4-2-3-1 and we score 7 goals 4 of which came from Cavani. I just don't know why Mazzarri doesn't use this formation it puts your attacking players in much more comfortable positions. It just seems that Serie A has caught up to Mazzarri's tactics and we aren't very dynamic, not like we are with a 4-2-3-1, you can have Pandev on the right and have two players (Insigne/Pandev) who can cut and shoot, you can put Mesto up on the right for some crosses, you can line up Zuniga on either/or and he can either cut and shoot, or cross with his stronger foot. You have Hamsik in the middle who you can run an attack through and Cavani whose a top class finisher. We would need a central midfielder who can be a playmaker(we've had this problem for a while since Mazzarri said '******** Cigarini'), our best bet with that is Dzemaili, whose more of a backup than a starter. We have Behrami who can be a Box-to-Box Midfielder or Inler who can be a Ballwinner, it depends on the tactics of the other teams you can rotate either/or. Left back would be a problem as well, since we'd have Aronica and Dossena who could somewhat competently fill the position (key word somewhat) but we've had this problem for a while now. Right back you can have Zuniga, Maggio, or Campagnaro. I believe all of them player that position with their national teams.
he did suck, did you not watch any lazio games when reja was in charge? mind numbing, he also told calaio that he wouldnt start even if zalayeta was only 60% fit, another shit man manager
I'm officially on the "Napoli should go after Di Matteo" boat Guy is a Swiss-Italian, played for the Italian National team, has won more than any Serie A manager currently managing a team in Italy, I think the players would love a guy like him. He seems like a decent guy too, doesn't throw players under the bus and all that. We all talk about missing out on Montella, but I think Di Matteo could be just as good as Montella, if hes not already better.
Salvatore Bocchetti has invited his hometown club Napoli to make a bid for him when his contract with Rubin Kazan expires on December 31. PA PhotosSalvatore Bocchetti would welcome a move to Napoli Bocchetti, 25, has played for Rubin since the summer of 2010 but now seems ready to return to the peninsula and, in a brief interview with Il Mattino, the defender made it clear where he would like to play. He told the newspaper: "My contract expires on December 31. It is a fairytale for Neapolitans to play for Napoli and I always follow their progress. I also keep an eye on my old club Genoa." Asked if he would take a pay-cut to secure a move to Napoli, he said: "I don't earn that much... Anyway, we can easily talk about it. Edinson Cavani is hugely impressive. I'd put him straight after Leo Messi in terms of today's best strikers." Mazzarri on Bocchetti "It's nice that he wants to play for Napoli, but he waves his hand in pictures, he's not ready for Serie A" in all seriousness, DeLa has this player in the bag, theres no way Bigon can ******** up getting Bocchetti
Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert faces competition if he decides to pursue his reported interest in Slovenia international Robert Beric. GettyImagesMaribor striker Robert Beric • Bent: What next? Lambert and his former club Norwich City have both been linked with a move for the NK Maribor striker, who will face Tottenham in the Europa League at White Hart Lane on Thursday, and appears intent on leaving the Slovenian champions. With the continued uncertainty surrounding Darren Bent's long-term future at Villa Park, Lambert is keeping his options open for the January transfer window and could decide to make changes up front. Beric has little more than 18 months remaining on his contract and Italian clubs Sampdoria and Napoli are already ahead in the race to secure the services of the 21-year-old, who scored against Spurs two weeks ago. Maribor are already resigned to the fact he will not extend his contract, which expires in 2014, and Beric's agent, Amir Ruznic, believes the player could be sold during the winter window. "Maribor know that he will not extend his contract. They know he has done all he can for the club and it is time for him to move on in his career. He only has one-and-a-half years left and that means he is for sale and it is most likely they will sell in January," said Ruznic. "I have been in contact with Italian clubs. Sampdoria and Napoli are very interested in signing Beric, but so far I do not know about interest from English clubs. I know a lot of teams are watching him. He is a very good player." Bent has returned to training this week, after missing the trip to Sunderland last Saturday with an ankle problem. Scans showed no significant damage to the same ankle which he injured last season, forcing him to miss the final three months of the campaign. Beric could be another guy that's better than Floccari as a Vice-Cavani... I would not mind if we could get him
lets hope Bigon doesn't ******** it up, if he says Aronica is good enough he ought to be sacked Bocchetti is a lot better than Aronica
I think we will get him, he's expressed a couple of times that he wants to come home. It seems he remembers his childhood, and that he remembers a thing called morals. Unlike that wanker of my cousin Criscito, yes he is from the same town as my nonno, but I can't find evidence yet.
I honestly want Calaio, cheap and would be a good super sub. We could vet Floccari but the only effect he will have is that he's from Vibo Valentina, which will make all the nonna's in Melbourne get excited.
Domenico Criscito? Wow that's awesome. I would love him at Napoli, he'd be perfect on the left for us. Maybe if Zenit get out of EL contention we can get him
The best thing that could happen to Napoli before the winter transfer market.... is to FIRE Bigon and his scouting team........
According to the Daily Star, Serie A giants Napoli are 'lining-up' Di Matteo as their new boss in the summer. The former Italian international impressed Napoli bosses in the very early stages of his spell as Chelsea caretaker when he helped mastermind the 4-1 win over Napoli in the Champions League which reversed the 3-1 defeat in Naples which ultimately cost Andre Villas-Boas his job. Napoli intend to replace their coach in the summer despite currently lying a respectable fourth in the Serie A table. "Di Matteo is seen as the ideal candidate to replace (Walter) Mazzari when the Napoli manager’s contract runs out," the Star says. "Chairman Aurelio De Laurentis does not see eye to eye with Mazzari and Di Matteo is exactly what he is looking for – a young coach with a proven record in the Champions League." http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/serie-paper-round-napoli-line-di-matteo-074917929.html
