I loved the part where Mourinho waits for the 4th official to show the extra time even more. Classy. :D

Us finishing second is bad news for some of the teams that topped their group.

I have heard more from Jose about how bad the official was than about why we continue to let teams get back into games we should be winning comfortably. How about we talk about that?

Because he decided the match. Also, several people demand him to be more humble and respectful, how is it being humble and respectful if he says "we should have been up 0-3 at halftime", or it will be interpreted as him being unhappy with the strikers. The whole team talked about the referee, including Iker Casillas, who pretty much does that only once every couple of years.

You have heard from the entire team and the club how bad the official was, not just the manager.

No, he didn't decide the match. If we scored the chances we had, the penalty wouldn't have even mattered. Point of the matter is, whether it's him (and he does this constantly), or Iker, or Sergio, or Arbeloa, or Ronaldo, we shouldn't be talking about the ref as it was the reason we lost points. Blaming the ref for the result is not being "humble or respectful". He wants to discuss the problems we had in the game, let's discuss both our inability to finish off games and the officiating. And that goes for all players who blamed the officiating as well.

    How benevolent of you!

Anyways, back in the real world when a team is winning one-nil comfortably and the referee gives the other team a phantom penalty and send off a player when he doesn't give the three clear fouls near the box and one on the side line which could have gotten an opposing player (Kompany/Zabaleta) sent of one does have to bring up officiating.

Hence why damn near everybody did so, from Casillas to Karanka to the club officials.

Aha. So we should ideally score 3 to 4 goals every week, just in case some Italian's pasta wasn't al dente.

I don't disagree that we had the chance to send them home crying, but it is what it is. With the situation the way it was in the second half, i could have done with an official that either knows what he's doing, or not doing what he knows he's doing.

No...you'd be doing it for the wrong reasons...just do it for shits 'n giggles instead.

By the way Essien seems to be out for the rest of the year from, did I get this right, an allergic reaction?

No we don't have to, but when it's a problem closing games over and over again, maybe the team as a whole should quit bitching about the refs and start addressing the real problem. They can whine and cry about the referees all they want, but it sure won't help much if we end up getting knocked out again in the semis because we don't take care of the things under our control.

Correct. Our players can't score. Maybe we should replace them. Does that make sense? Or does it make sense to you that a player or coach will run in front of a microphone after this second half mindf_ck of Rocchi and claim that it's "our own fault"? There is no single player that will do that. Also, the coach that steps in front of a microphone tells the players that it's their fault they lost after dropping points like that is begging to lose their support.

It's pretty irrelevant whether or not you have it "under control". A handful of fouls that prevent counterattacks not given, one red card to one of yours players, a bizarre penalty and you're in trouble, in any sort of group game, and a lot more in a two leg tie. It's our priority to state the obvious in this case. Hiding behind what could have been is for suckers.

...and the squad responded brilliantly. :D

Anyway, Casillas looked pretty annoyed. I'm sure you can't expect a solid analysis at this point, especially with the second half fresh in the team's mind.

Shame on Real Madrid for not scoring 5 goals to cover up for the referee's terrible performance. Shameful Madrid once again at work.
